Nothing worked today... 2 good rides in the beginning, only waist high, only ten second rides at best...

The rest of the session I couldn't stop pearling. I swear I have bad luck when I'm wearing a leash. I put it on cause it was getting a little crowded which isn't usually a big deal (my friend insisted we surf at probably the most crowded jetty in south jersey) but for whatever reason a couple people were standing next to their boards in the middle of the break not doing anything and I was afraid of drilling them if I kept on eating sh*t.

Waves started closing out. I couldn't make the drops consistently. It was like I never surfed before. Then after finally catching a wave... as I was kicking out I flip my f*cking board right into my eye socket. Probably because the stinking leash was wrapped up. Black eye to end the day.

FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS. All in all wasn't too bad out there, just wasn't my day. wow I sound like a little b*tch. This bassplayer is going to disappear now. flame on.

Brah, 10 second rides? That's an eternity to us in New England lately (as in last 5 months) unless you're on a cutter (aka SUP or 10+ footer). "Only waist high"??? If I'd have been allowed to bargain digits and toes for waves to Mother Nature this summer here, I'd have four nubs for appendages right now.

I got up at 6 and hammered out a ton of work then hit the break at 830am for 90 mins and got about 15 rides. None of them more than 4-5 seconds due to lack of size and not breaking at the higher than normal tide (full moon Sat at 130am) but I will take them. It was beautiful out too, still is. Offshores all afternoon and evening and I will definitely be out again in a few hours for lower tide. Tomorrow is the titties for conditions all around here all day and night so I'm envisioning a solid 7-8 hours of charging 4-6 footers that will be fairly clean.

You're in NJ. Yes, you had heavy onshores last week but a schitt ton of swell height lately so you know you were able to have some fun in that chop for days. I don't want to hear a damn thing about
"woe is me we only have waist height here."

No hate intended brah, just a lil tough love and telling you what you need to hear. I don't think you Mid-Atlantic folk have a clue to the pond that we've had to look at for months. Even last weekend when it was supposed to be awesome, it just all closed out Sat & Sun for the most part. If tomorrow tanks out then people will need to stay at least 300 feet from me until at least Thursday when I go out west.

    Two things real quick:
JERSEY IS THIRD WORLD, NOT FIRST
    and...
Unless you've had to book a 3,000+ mile flight each way to find notable swell in the last 5 months, you have no right to air your crap and instead should drown your unsubstantiated sorrows in a case of Yuengling...which btw is confirmed to be coming back to Mass in 2014 yessss!!!!!!!!!

    Love,

rcarter...looks like this guy had a cup of the same bad coffee you were accustomed to being served not too long ago. Can you please give him a couple of your "tic-tacs" so he can avoid ending it all and easing his pain and instead just STFU and getting back on his board and stay out there at the break until he sees a good set coming in because it will.

I've only been surfing a year, but it sounds like much of this just goes with the territory. Part of the journey, as they say. My past month has been more or less like this (except taking it in the eye) while transitioning to a shorter board. Believe it or not, your post encourages me to keep at it.

I agree with everyone in this thread. whining. Though- if you met me in the real world you would probably like me. I just have a self deprecating personality from a lack of ego and sometimes a dry sarcastic humor which probably isn't funny to anyone. I was hoping to make you feel better about yourselves. I did go to work today too; I haven't had a day off in two weeks, though my job probably is easier than most peoples.

I guess you guys always see the silver lining, even when you have a surf where things don't go good for you. I'll learn. Maybe I was just hoping to make your sh*tty day better, but I made it worse, so sorry dudes. Now I'm off to bathe in my favorite shampoo. Maybe mommy will read me a story. Love you, no homo and full homo.

Thanks to last weeks onslaught of waves and wind.........

My God dang spot is ruined.....destroyed..........Yesterday it was not even rideable......closed-out shorepound. had to hit the other end of town and that place is funky. I don't friggin know where to go tonight, and I don't have the time to go on a search. F'ing Cadbury isn't available until 4:30.

Yep, MFitz the spot that created this past summer magic......the place turns on every summer, recently, then craps out late fall.......it's done already. Though don't worry too much it might be back in a week.....or three months. Man, this sucks.

Scored a half dozen quick rides at DP before heading up 95 for what by one forecasting site's rating system lists as the best wave conditions in the U.S. at this moment. Let's see how this head-high forecast of stoke goes. Either way, I'll be charging the full moon sesh all night since it's set to be clear, warm, and swellin still.

Hunters Moon last night. Very nice. Oh so big.

So did you surf after dark? I surfed until darkness set in, and actually entertained the idea of going to Atlantic City because they got the bright lights of gaming halls to bolster the light of the moon. But night surfing's something you do when you're drunk. So I passed.

So how was up north? I like it up north.......if you wacked-off 90% of the surfing population........same goes for Santa Cruz. Actually, have to wack-off 98% of the surfing population in Santa Cruz and then that place would be paradise(sort of) for me.

Yeh brah, bouts 90 mins after dark I go down the line on a fast right and am facing that big wheel of cheese in the sky. That's all I wanted. It'll happen again many times but if it doesn't, it still did then. Sat at other breaks at 3am and almost went out again as it was still illuminated and decent swell but had been charging for nearly a day straight by then plus these were breaks I've never seen in the day. You're straight up Miyagi if you can paddle into a rock reef for the first time under a moon and ball hard.

Yes, El Norte was muy simpatico. I think very highly of it now. Those people operate slowly and are happy.
