What's your favorite post-surf chowdown...? And if you have a favorite eat place, feel free to name it. Here's mine: Fish tacos Mexican food Beer (only if not surfing second sesh) Chicken & rice or seafood (when in CentroAmerica & preferably at Yolanda's in Nica)
Guys....stating the obvious: it's an opportunity to start to end the gnome-chucka-booboo-wayneinsane pissing pot that this Forum has become. Can't say I didn't try!
I hate to say it, but more often than not I'm chowin down some buck fifty JBC's from Wendy's. In terms of FAVORITE post gnar meal, I'd have to say a big fat cheesesteak. I kinda rationalize it with myself, eating the dirtiest, nastiest food, because I worked up a nice workout in the water. I should plan a nice big fancy dinner for saturday.
every day last week, I stopped by BK and got a small choc shake and large satisfries. Their shakes actually kinda suck and the satisfries are kinda weak, but I was totally digging it at the time.
When I lived in OC, MD there was a pork barbecue place on the way back from Assateague we'd always hit up.
If it's an afternoon sesh, I usually get a hankering for Mexican or a nice big burger on the grill. In the cooler "shiver me timbers" weather, a nice bowl of Chili or a hearty stew by the fire is good. Morning sesh, something with bacon and or sausage, eggs and a good multi-grain bread .. with butter, of course. Of course pre-sesh is one of the "slurries" discussed in the "Fish Oil" thread, and coffee - dark roast straight black.
Same, except its either subway or mcfattys for me. I'm always in a car after I surf with a 2 hour drive home that my dad is lovingly and willingly proud to take the time every weekend!
I usually surf dawn patrol sessions and come home and eat a huge bowl of cereal. For some reason it's always what I want after an AM session.
I don't care for BK but I almost started a thread called "Are you SATISFRIED!" I kind of like that marketing phrase.
honestly, anything resembling food is good after 4 hours surfing. If I am trying to surf again I keep it light and beer-less, otherwise its eat until coma commences...also, call me trashy/trendy but I like tecate it has become a common verb in our circle: tecete-me' pro favor
if its a lazy summer morning surf, I like to buy a bunch of little necks and steam em in beer on the grill for lunch. When its cold: tea, coffee with warm food for me. pork roll egg and cheese does the trick.
Dude, it's not about one kind of cereal...you gotta mix multiple boxes together and create your own flavor. It will change your life.
After a good sesh I feel like a sea predator, so fish tacos, shrimp on the barbie, or grilled mahi. Conch chowder is a great starter, topped with a spoonful of sherry. The Reef Grill in Juno Beach and The Food Shack in Jupiter do great Caribbean and Indo inspired surf grub. A nice cold one and a fattie make it special.
always stopped at that place after a teague trip. ive been frequenting atlantic city more the last few years and after a session i prefer white house sub or tony bolngna's and alcohol
If you are in AC and haven't been, be sure to try out the Picalilli in AC. A truly outstanding atmosphere with some of Atlantic city's finest. Wing night on Wednesdays is the best the place has to offer, which will be a one of a kind experience.
Scrambled Eggs (2 white 1 with yolk), sauteed bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and sliced up bananas and avacado with lemon and lime juice, crushed red peppers and seasoned black pepper. Sometimes with rice. And a Corona.
Nothing beats fresh whole fried fish and a litro. Here, I'll take Guac, Ceviche, & Chicken and rice from the Dominican joint... and a 6 pack.
