I'm starting a new religion, called the "Chavez is the most righteous dude" religion. Some basic tenants:
All surfers will bow before Chavez, Chavez gets top priority at all breaks world-wide.
Fear and worship the righteous back-side hack of Chavez.
When Chavez appears at your break and walks on water, you are to put 10 dollars into the Chavez is Poor Box located at each beach entrance.
All will now drink the nectar of Chavez- Jack Daniels. Those that throw up will be committing a mortal sin.
All wives and girlfriends will come see Chavez for "Confession"
I demand a sacrifice of 32 Spongers every October 31st.
Chavez's likeness to be photo-shopped onto every image of the former deity know as Slater. I cast Slater into the fire pit (Great Lakes) to surf there for all eternity.

The greatest minds were not believers in the literal translation of the bible. You can believe in god and science. Modern christianity seems to have a problem with that. That is why they try to fight science (thus the whole evolution fight the southern school systems deal with).

Yep. Christianity needs to evolve, just like we have. The bible Wayne is quoting is a single translation of man written texts. Believing the earth is only a few thousand years old is just as silly as believing the earth is flat.
