Well, if someone starts a third thread about it then I think we will get 28 minutes of windy chop in the 1 meter variety. Oh, right...we first have to wait until #NEWWETTYTHREAD stops TRENDING on SI.
Asking a wave-riding forum to stop talking about wetsuits is like asking a running magazine to stop talking about shoes. Seriously though, how can there be "news" related to running anyways? "Hot news item: guy put left foot forward, then right foot, then left foot, repeated 50,000 times"... "One Guy Ran Fast, Another Ran Slightly Slower"... "Some People Ran, Wore Various Shoes While Doing So"
I love talking about wettys. I do not love reading new thread after new thread asking the same question that's been answered ad nauseam on this forum, nor do I respect or have time for any adults or even late adolescents needing their arse swabbed by others and being coached on how to leave the house each morning, Dr. Marv. I do love a good parody though and we are having great fun ripping on these cyberkooks. FYI jogging has a soft j in it. Apparently all they do is just run.
I bet these guys know a lot about wetsuits...
Bodyboarding is no fun to watch unless theyre riding 16ft ledges and eating **** everytime.. sorry but they got like 3 maneuvers.
Nice video epictetus. I mock my sponger friends, but they are core. That is a nice wave. I gotta get me a heated suit, I think the water temp here is dipping down into the mid 70s soon.
Definitely got waves from it in Maryland this afternoon. Buoy jumped up to 4 feet @ 12-13 seconds from an E direction (while the local winds have been north). Stomach to chest high thick lines with very light onshores. clearly long period stuff, carrying a lot of water, coming in 2-4 wave sets. I'm sure this swell was from Melissa, and its been a while since I can remember surfing Tropical Storm swell in a 4/3 with gloves, booties, and a hood. Not complaining...it kind of got fun right before dark.
The 2-3 feet and clean that was forecasted in Mass today ended up being 2-3 clean inches. This is not effing ok. At all.
Emass I know a 4footer always breaking in watertown.. will post pics but you must trade 3-4 waves for this one. Its got about a 40-50 yard snake run into a gouging 4ft `grow` section to hack off.
That's what I'm talking about. And what I'm left to seek stoke through when the Atlantic won't break. Improvised my search for stoke tonight by trading one of my baker's dozen of surf sticks for a snowboard, bindings and boots. Making a return to the slopes for the first time in over a decade this weekend when they open up. We rode every day during high school when the sport was about to boom. After that, all that will be left to surf is straight air while skydiving. Unless there's another surface of asphalt, water, and snow that I don't know of that you can ride a board on.
Screw it. I just got new sliding gloves today. Need to go hit the street for sesh #3 since ALL THE SURF SITES LIED TODAY. ALL OF THEM.
i The struggle is real, all I've had for the past weeks is some 3 second period 6 footers with 40 mph winds onshore. I'm getting a bit ancy for some actual clean swell
Hey Nancy, I'm likewise getting ancy as to the extent of malignant illiteracy next time an SI brah concocts a neologism. These are not iPhone 6 casualties, people. These are grossly negligent homophonic errors. Did you braddahs not read and write growing up and instead just intuit your thoughts across the dinner table? Went to telepathic schools? Damn. Sincerely, Pissed off from no swell BTW - This is the byproduct of living the #SaltLife. You get salty at times of wave drought, and it gets compounded when your Sector 9 slidegloves rip holes in all the fingertips the first night you buy them after nailing mad Bert slides.
