I"m a fan of the idea of a Multiverse. One universe with a start and an end, and "nothing" outside of it, doesn't sit well with me.

Multiverse is something created to satisfy a remainder of a math equation. Tesla hated theoretical physicists.

There are many theories that stick within the boundaries of natural laws that show how this can happen. Essentially, you have one collapsed universe that creates another. Stephen Hawking has written about this, and I find it very interesting. Unfortunately, since it steps into the world of theoretical astrophysics and quantum physics, the mathematics is far over my head.
Here is an article about it: http://www.space.com/20710-stephen-hawking-god-big-bang.html

so basically you are saying there is an energy input into the system (our uni) from another universe?

Also, big bang? saying that the whole universe came from a single point that had next to no volume seems incredibly...unlikely. We all know it was the flying spaghetti monster and if you don't believe this then you are going to drown in a lake of gravy, so sayeth our lord

Volume doesn't matter. You should really read up on black hole theory. It really clears a lot of this up.

m-theory is really cool to look at. that model has multiple universes and every so often (every trillion years or so) they oscillate close enough together to actually touch which creates a big bang. i love this model because as our current universe cools and becomes dark, a new one will form.

MIS, go read A Universe from Nothing by Lawerence Krauss. He talks about how the universe could have formed from 'empty' space.

I think this is one of those threads that should be closed. or maybe this thread could act like flytape during the summer... keep all the kooks in here.

this has been a surprisingly tame and productive thread compared to some others

my fav part is no one can be right or totally proven wrong as its all theoretical and unprovable until Kang and Kodos drop out of the sky

They Live indeed! Charles, take the glasses off.

Charles, have you ever seen a school of small fish move rapidly in unison? The shimmering is not unlike your supposed 'Frankensnake'. That is probably a little school of fish. Or a small iceberg, releasing gas/glacial detritus and tumbling just below the surface. Surely one of these two logical explanations shall suffice.

Forget not Occam's Razor: 'the simplest explanation is the most likely'.

Charles, I have two questions about your video.

One, why do you keep insisting on calling it a 'Frankensnake'? Then you mention that it may be an alien? Just pick one already... 'Frankensnake' sounds stupid, and makes it seem like something from earth.

Two, what's up with all the cats in the video? At first I thought they were strays, but then I saw that one had a leash...? Are you holding the leash? Why would you bring your cat to Norway?

I thought this was weird at first, but then I realized it could be your service animal. If so I apologize.

I showed the video to a few locals in Norway and they were astonished by what I had filmed. I don't think it's fish, the only life in those alpine lakes are trout and I've never seen trout school like that. Part of my expedition in Norway was for fly fishing trout so I know the lakes pretty well. Whatever I'm filming is visible from a mountain top so it's pretty big. The rest of your comment is confusing I'm not sure what you mean by cats and Frankenstein snakes. There was a few people in the video who can be heard commenting on the anomaly.

Please watch it again. It's not fish. I don't think an iceberg can cross a lake on seconds either. Just saying.

well okay... if you know what you don't think it is.... what do you think it is? I think its the wind... swamp gasses and anything that is not linked to locheness or big foot.

I didn't watch ur video but I do believe in other life.the thing that gets me is how racist our world is,we think aliens are green guys that have heads that look like lollipops and big eyes.i wonder if that's how they think people on earth are.i always thought aliens were Mexicans without a greencard

I have no idea what it is. Methane hydrate being released from the lake bed could be an explanation but I would expect to see ripples in the water which I don't. I was with a group of mountaineering experts who all had no explanation.

That's why I posted it here I was curious what all of you creative surfers would say

Charles over all its hard to say whats in your video, but why do alien encounters always seem to happen to a certain subset of the population?

why dont they approach a scientist or a porn star and say, 'hey check me out, im here and real dawg' instead of all the secrecy and anal probings

The video -> definitely a piece of ice that is rotating in the water as it melts
