I wanted to be a writer… plenty of time to surf, the ability to express myself freely, travel the world. Got a degree in journalism and gave it a shot. Lasted two years. Figured my brother-in-law… a teacher… had a pretty good gig going, so went back to school. I've been in education for 17 years… with about 15 more to go...

trolling threads to insult people is something you NEVER do. hahaha. i love you yankee/rcarter! a true representation of the current state of SI. nothing more then a platform to stroke your fragile ego and tear people down. what?...you no like when you get a taste?

don't jump off a bridge! donate yourself to a pharmaceutical company. this would be your contribution to society. a little more useful then your SI career.

    Look! It's the shredmachine's pappy!

AKA, the a$$hat, and keep on trolling, contributing absolutely nada, shpeckling the forum with your shpew; eventually you'll get hosed off & banned. Until then, sure, keep yourself amused by blustering about how I'm the same dude as gitcarter. The inane is your thing, whale away at the latex, silly wabbit.

Back to the original topic, what is it you want to do when you grow up and hit puberty? I know your first choice is gay porn but what is your back up plan?

From the age of 12, I had wanted to be an oceanographer or a marine biologist and live by the ocean. Jacques Cousteau was my hero. I did fairly well in high school (So. Calif), was the track team captain and an Eagle Scout. All good stuff. Went on to college to major in marine biology and be in Navy ROTC. But once in college, I began an almost a 10 year journey with John Barleycorn. I managed to get through college somehow but not with a degree in Marine Biology. I settled on something easier. I didn't do ROTC but got into the Navy via OCS. This was in the late 70s and they needed bodies. While in the Navy, I gave up drinking and finally began the journey of becoming a responsible person.

I never became an oceanographer or a marine biologist. I still work for the Navy, but as a civilian supporting shipboard radar systems. My place of work is right on the beach, potentially allowing me to surf every day, if I wanted. I have a job and a family, with 3 kids in college and one in HS. If I hadn't stopped drinking, I'd have none of that and either be in jail or long ago dead. I have many things to be grateful for and consider myself fortunate.

I wanted to be a writer like Jack Kerouac. Traveling around partying and writing and meeting cool people. I partied a little too much and didn't write enough. Now I work for the railroad. Don't party anymore, but can go surf whenever the waves are good. Love my job. Thanks for sharing DosXX. We may have a mutual friend.
