    In all seriousness, we give each other a lot of ****, but I don't really joke about his sexuality. Coming out is tough. He is pretty much a badass Eastern European who went to one of the most violent high schools in NYC, but it was still no cakewalk.

    But yes, I am a Mick-spic myself, and was also raised on the old-school Northeast tradition of treating people like ****, and so were many of my greasy Wop-dego, Wasp, and Jewish friends. But not everyone... and I don't really joke with my black friends about that stuff.

    Sometimes I wonder if people from the South have their faux 'hospitality' because they cannot handle things like this. Instead of being up front, they act all polite, because they can't handle their repressed feelings.

    I've always wondered if duels were not out of 'honor', but because one man wanted to stop another from telling his wife about what the two southern 'gentleman' were doing the night before.... think about it. Slapping another man with a glove? Then shooting him before he can get home and talk to your wife? What a coincidence....

    Don't know if its the same guys, but before I moved back east from San Diego last year, the director of this documentary organized a party at my restaurant in Del Mar. Initially when I got the email, I was not sure if it was a serious inquiry, but they did most of the filming in San Diego county. Didn't talk much with them about it during their event. Didn't even mention I was a surfer. They seemed like good people though. I'm sure there are many out there that surf. The gay community seems to pretty avid about fitness etc, so it would not surprise me that any kind of ocean sport would attract their attention.

    Hilarious.

    If any of you Mo's try and hit on me when im out there shredding waves your gonna get a beat down. North vs South style thrashing...i mean the last thing I want to be worrying about as carve waves is, is my posture too provocative for all the Gays?

    And about gay surfers...honestly who the hell cares?!?!
    Look up "the brothers marshall" are they gay? Are they just out for a bad a$$ good time? They are bros with all the heavy longboard elite. So in my humble opinion i stick with the i dont think anybody gives a rat's ass if your gay or straight in the lineup. If thats on your mind you are obviously just out there floating around getting in everybodies way, so do us all a favor and stay home. No gays will get your homophobic a$$ in your house!

    It seems as though raising awareness for meaningless sh!t is the new trendy thing to do. Who cares if youre gay, white, black, straight, ugly, fat, smelly, a surfer, have allergies, afraid of spiders, rich or poor.

    I don't know if the persons opinion is the problem or the person taking offense to these opinions and creating the issues is the problem.
