The fact that the tried to put an exact number on the casualties is absurd and obviously reflects a computer simulated study. One thing is for sure, if they are detonating explosives under water animals will die...You know what, if they feel they have to do this sort of thing and are going to do it regardless. Just do it and don't talk about it.
