I was at my local shop yesterday, the cheapest suit they had was $450.i know they say u get what u pay for,but that's too far out of my budget.i rock a hyperflex 4/3 with 7mil gloves,6mil booties, and a separate 5mil hood all year long.my 4/3 is super tight, shouldve went with a large but too late now.im in the market for a used suit.

when I was younger,i was dying to get a 5/4/3,then when I saw how much they cost I thought il be a kook forever.so my 1st few years I rented hooded suits from farias and wave hog in ship bottom.good price 20$ for the day,i always thought what happens if I don't make it back due to death by sea lol.my 1st time out in December was around 2006,i was pumped up and ready to go.paddle out make it over the first few sets, get to the outside just in time for a clean up set.lol I was getting sucked up the face backwards and im watching someone take off right under me,lol I got so pounded, spent the next 10minutes trying to get out the rip.i sat out for the rest of the day which pissed me off cus I just blew my last dollars on this wetsuit, drove back north to Monmouth, then had to go back down south

    I'm 5'8", 185 +/-. I wear an Isurus 4/3. Fits great, super warm, no flushing - ever.

+1 on O'Neill...I am pretty much the same build as you and O'Neill's XL fit perfectly. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable in your suit. Also, the changeable hood to neck piece in mere seconds is beautiful. I don't think I'll ever buy another brand of wetsuit.

i havent bought a wetsuit in a while, but when i was they made in-between sizes like m/t (medium/tall), i was always a m/s. but that was oneils, xcel, hotline, and billabong.

patagonia and matuse were way to pricey for me!

that's funny,iv been to every beach except ocean city and south.lbi is like an hour ride long exit 63 I think, and im coming from 103.when I lived down in toms river,it was still a far azz drive.i enjoy lbi a lot, much better than my spots, doesnt barrel as thick as Monmouth, but u can surf everyday since they have good sandbars.my buddy from work was tellin me like 15yrs ago he was at a party in some rich beachtown and couldn't think of the name of it.near point, but not bayhead, not montoloking lol.he said he was doing bong hits with the mayors daughter.i wouldn't be surprised tho,big azz houses on lake como.anyway brielle was the town
