How long till every little rich kid has his own drone filming from the sky? It's getting creepy.

the footage i've seen is definitely a cool perspective, but not a replacement for shooting on the beach or from the water. Those GoPro's have to be pretty close to the surfer to get a close view of the action. Having said that, it is definitely a cool creation by GoPro. I've only seen one, while I was surfing, so it hasn't got annoying yet for me.

I insure a farmer in NC who uses one to survey his fields. Also told me he may use it to fly over some rental home she owns.

yeah i know people use them over land a lot for real estate. I personally haven't seen any over water while surfing - other than the Pipeline go pro footage.

First it was where did the crowd come from? Next it was whats with the kayak?. After that it was why are there so many sup's? Then came whats with that guy on the motorized board? I cant wait to drop into a wave and get hit in the face by a go pro drone.

In Deer Trail, Colorado they are trying to pass a law making it legal to hunt drones. The more I hear the more I like Colorado. I wish they bordered an ocean.

Why the ****doeg everyone all these "drones" like it is some sci fi movie drama? It's a remote controlled helicopter, people. A. Remote. Controlled. Helicopter. With a ****ing camera.
Even the .mil uber scary machines are remote controlled airplanes (with weapons, yes). But it's robot scanning team trying to steal your thoughts. Who the hell cares. A telephoto lens takes better pictures anyways

I desperately wanted a quad copter until I realized they had what is known as fly away issues. Look it up on youtube it's really entertaining when one goes rogue.
