vintage surfboard restoration

    I have a 1960s 10 ft. Hobie that I enjoy riding but want to clean it up and preserve it but want to continue to ride it. The only question I have is since it is pre-leash era, should I go ahead and put a leash plug in it? Or would that take away from the boards value?

    I am not qualified to answer this question but I'm going to take a guess and say don't put a leash plug in it.

    If you're concerned about it's value, have it appraised, then decide. If you want to ride it, and need a leash, put a through-the-box loop in it. At least it's more authentic than a plug.
