I'm heading out to San Diego this Tuesday for 2 days to look at colleges. My mom gave me the "ok" to surf for a little while I'm out there.. Any of y'all know a good place to rent a board? Preferably not a foamie haha but if I don't have an option ill foam it up.
There are ton of surf shops everywhere in San Diego. Only been there once, so don't have any real recommendations for you, but San Diego is pretty big, look for shops near where your staying and stop on by.
or talk to gaffer. he may have a board you can borrow. they have had a good run of swell the last week here. he's probably in the water as i write this
So You gotta check out the campus of Point Loma Nazerian. Not sure if they will offer you the courses you need but at least check out the campus it will change your course for the next 10 years. Oh and rent that board before you look at the campus and try to go when the tide is dropping 2 hours before low tide. Good Luck!
Find a board on Craigslist and buy one for cheap then bring it home. If you take any decent time to look you will find a great board for 100-200 that you can likely sell back home easily for 250+. I do it most times I come out here and I've scored boards usually for 100-150. Flooded market.
Not trying to buy one. Just wanted to rent for a day or two... I'm visiting sdsu, ucsd and poly pomona
Beckers Surf Boards I traveled to san diego on my winter break 2 weeks ago. I went to Beckers Surfboards, (20min from lax) and they gave me a 5.8 quadfin. I paid 100$ for an entire week rental! I highly recommend you check out the deals there.
there are board rental shops on every single major beach from Imperial Beach to Oceanside. Just rock up to the closest beach to where you plan on staying and pick one out. Pretty much all the rates are the same.
