Saw some sick AJW shapes in OCMD for a decent price 500-550 Brand new. Don't see to many boards in that range anymore. Any feedback on them?

As much as I appreciate the offer, I have never surfed a board under 6'0. I'm 6'4" @ 185. What model is it?

    AJW rox

Head on down to K-Coast - my boys got you covered. They have a good selection of boards in your price range + there is a 6'4" AJW Answer model on their used rack for $225 - it's used but ready to rock - ask for Hairball and tell him SteveO sent you. I almost picked up the 6.4 except I dropped a bomb and I was there picking up a new 6.5.4 wetty and a 6.6 AJW black pelican to float all of the rubber.

...as for Adam's craftsmanship - easily the fastest growing (now grown) shaper in the world. People trust him and Adams boards that are shipped to our local shops are shaped for our waves. You will not be let down. I have yet to hear 1 bad thing about his work. Most people buy a board or 2 and then have him shape all of their boards. The Black Pelican is your go-to winter shorty - the volume is hidden in the center but the rails are still evident and you can burry'em. Like you, I'm 6' 185 and I'm surfing steep sh!tty beach break. 6.4 - 6.6 in the winter. Summer is a little different but there aint much for surf in the summer.

    Good luck-

Thanks man. That is where I saw the boards. They're pretty nice. I've bought 3 boards from Justin(all firewire). Very patient and well versed in the board selection. However, I was thinking of buying another PU.

I have one- I think it's a 6'3 standard thruster... Possible one of the better shaped thrusters I have ridden- you can tell the first wave that you drop into.

why cant boards be cheaper?i don't see how anyone could afford a real quiver.ci boards start off around 700.u buy a brand new board and snap it on your first wave, thats a helluva loss.i only have 4 boards, and they 3 of 4 are severly dinged up and need some repair.if I had the dough to fork over id buy a new one,but not with my current budget.buying a new wintersuit set me back, but atleast those last a while.i remember a few years ago I saw some kid snap the nose off his board and he came in and started crying.i felt bad for him.i never really surfed a crumbly wave, everything barrels here in north jersey.what I do with my newer board,i go out without a leash,so when I wipeout the board flys away intead of being corked to my ankle and snapping from the lip.its good aslong as there isn't a crowd.most of the time the board comes right to shore while your trying to swim out the rip.heres a few helpful tips for if u do surf without a leash and have to swim back in.on a good south swell in nj,there is no swimming in.impossible.what u want to do is wait for the whitewash to come at u,exhale underwater, and jump off the bottom just in time for the whitewash to blast u to the beach.if u just duckdive it,your going to get recycled and stay in the impact zone until u figure out how to get blasted to the beach.or bodysurf.but most of the time if u bodysurf a wave from the outside, its not gonna push u all the way in,and u get stuck getting recycled in the impact zone.
