Well my winter surf season ended early for me this year, went on a snowboarding trip and ended up dislocating my collarbone. Doc told me i wouldn't be able to lift anything for 1 to 2 months, anybody got any good ideas on rehab so my arm isn't so week when summer surf trips come around.

Hey man, my shoulder issues all started from a snowboard injury.
My advice is to take as long as you need to rehab and don't push it to get back into the water or on the mountain. Collarbone is definitely different then Shoulder, but for the shoulder its all about strengthening.
Go see an orthopedic doc, and get his/her advice on how to rehab or if a physical therapist would help.
Take your time man, you'll be back out in the lineup in no time.

well just got back from the orthopedic specialist and found out that i have a grade 3 separated ac joint, which means i tour the joint from my collarbone, i will be out for 3 to 4 months, and like many of you have said rest is my best bet for a speedy recovering, is there any photographers on here from the Virginia Beach area, i figure if i can't spend my time in the water i would at least like to document other peoples time. thanks for the wishes and hope to see y'all in the water in may or june

I've been knocked out of the water several times for months at a time for three years, now. various medical conditions. had 48 great years, now a struggle. hang in there. every time I got my surfing back, the next problem knocked me out. keep the faith. I hope I make it back.

I broke my pinky finger yesterday. Total bummer. I was also snowboarding. Doing something dumb and riding over rocks I managed to fall on my hand. I have a doctors apt today to find out what is actually wrong, but it is not looking good. My pinky does not point the same direction anymore.

Bummer...Pinky fingers rehab slowly. I got mallet finger on my pinky, and also crushed my index finger and thumb. 2 screws, 3 pins, and 8 months later I'm back at 80% and surfing again. Take rehab seriously!
