Thinking of signing up for it, although, I feel like I'm not good enough to enter the regionals yet. I do contests here in RI frequently, but have never done the regionals. Anyone else ever competed in it or been to it? http://www.surfesa.org/competition/northeast/
Do you have enough points? If it's anything like down here, you will still have a good chance of getting in even if you're 10-15 down the alternate list provided you have enough points for that. Man, that's gonna be a cold one! Our division will be down in Folly Beach, SC this year.
Ya it will be cold. Yes, I do have enough points, our Northeast guy that runs the northeast part said the last contest that I did.
meh. early may is usually reasonably warm. still 3/2 & boots, maybe gloves if you're going for a long session or get cold easily. but that water'll be easily 20° warmer than it is at the moment.
Ok, I will do it I guess. Its just that, I was lookin at the vid of it https://vimeo.com/67588436 , and I would definetly be the "least experienced" kid there. Ya see, with pete pan, (northeast esa guy) he says you only need to participate in at least 2 contests in order to go to regionals. I guess that makes enough points.
I'll be going to my first one in over a decade this year. Got back into competing last year and ended up with 2nd overall in the Masters. I hope I can get into Easterns this year too.
Magic bro. Last year, from mid April to early May, I counted the water temp going from 42 to 53 over the course of 17 calendar days. Watching the days get a minute longer per day is cool. Water going up 2F every 3 days is a whole new stoke.
