It becomes problematic, even for arctic canines, when a penetrable layer of ice is covering a foot plus of snow rendering trails inaccessible. Gary Williams.
Years ago (1982), a friend and I were diving in the Puget Sound area - off Port Orchard. He had an old, yellow wooden 16 ft outboard. I was still in the Navy then, and our ship, USS Constellation, was in the yards at Bremerton. We had made several dives that afternoon. It was December, late in the afternoon, and each of us had one tank left. Our third dive that day, it was getting darker and quickly more cold. I don't remember the dive itself that much; we were probably getting some rock scallops. Upon surfacing 40 or so minutes later, it was snowing. Everything along the shore had a coating of snow. The sight was something I'll always remember. We returned to the dock in the dark; the snow was still coming down. It was cold but a great end to the day. Hot coffee never tasted better.
Snow Blows great - ac is ground zero for accumulation. ya know all that stuff melts and makes my freezing surf spot even colder - if that is possible???? i'm getting out the beavertail wetsuit…..
We are suposed to get 6" here in VA and it'll be below freezing tomorrow. Hopefully the end is in sight.
75 and sunny here in FL. No surf but went out in the boat yesterday and the little lady went topless. Spring has sprung down here!
another 4 heavy inches of snow here in Delaware. I don't mind that much, but sucks being trapped inside all day.
Trapped inside? Go skiing/snow shoeing/go for a walk. The snow is pretty! Oh wait...You're from delaware. No wonder you feel "trapped" by 4 inches of snow When does delaware ever get snow anyway? It should be a nice suprise for you. When do you have a white christmas? Once every 20 years? LOL
Snow days at my house I ski at my local mountain (about 7 minutes away) and make a ramp out of snow from my porch down my backyard with a jump at the end that I can do 180's on pretty sick, wish I had a vid or something.
