definitely functional & fairly critical, but it wasn't huge, which is why i think a score in the 7's would be generous, but a high 6 would be spot-on. i would've scored it better than the 6.5 they gave bede, but under a 7.

melling looked deadly...if i were cj, i'd be maybe a tad nervous about my rd 3 heat.

i think jjf is suffering from hawaii hangover...he probably hasn't surfed a crap wave since they were in europe, so he's likely out of practice on weak, small waves & is having trouble adjusting his surfing to them. the price of living in paradise, i suppose. glad i decided to leave him off my team for this event. even so, round 3 could be messy for me. i got all but 2 through, but some of my guys are coming up against solid surfers who've been doing well. the reynolds-fanning heat should be awesome to watch, too.

 

anybody watch the girls last night? all i gotta say is courtney conologue absolutely kills it out there. she surfs like the guys.... so powerful. so impressed.

and a question for ya... anybody trying to watch this on their ipad and stream it through apple tv (mirroring). ive done it before this season with no issues but the asp website wont allow it to mirror now. so annoying

 

Did you try instead of going to the ASP website go to the youtube page and airplaying from there? Or... doesn't Apple TV have a youtube app? Might work right from there without having to tie up your ipad.

 

Not entirely familiar with Apple TV.. can you access your "watch later" or any other playlists from the apple TV? If so try putting it in a playlist from your computer or phone and see if you can get to it from there on the Apple TV.

 

Lakey Peterson just got Sally Fitz for the first time in her ASP career. Remember last year when she qualified and lost every heat against Sally Fitz? I just know that because of that Zero to 100 movie I saw on Netflix. Kinda happy for her.

Its funny that this tour is sponsored by samsung and it took half an hour to get the contest to stream properly on my samsung tablet today. First they didn't have the youtube live stream under the ASP youtube channel....or at least it was impossible to find. Then it got all chopped out half way through the 2nd heat. I like how they have all the contests on youtube now but that doesn't help if you can't find the stream.....of course on windows you can just tap "youtube" in the corner and it comes up....not so on a tablet that I can see. Anyone got any tips? I hate dealing with this crap

 

yea, that was a good heat. lakey surfed really well. i was disappointed to see tyler wright lose, but she earned her loss w/ some poor tactical choices.

i didn't watch any of it yesterday...looks like there were some close heats, though. a few blow outs, too. bummed to see owen wright eliminated so early. he was surfing well.
