Best ocean bottom for groundswell

Flat/straight beaches are notorious for close outs. A natural beach is generally not straight. It juts in and out. The straightness is from dumping sand/overdevelopment/destruction of marshes that naturaly replesnish sand.

Here's a natural beach from cape cod, Unfortunately it's not really safe anymore due to sharks since the idiots won't relocate the seals or cull the sharks there. Fishing for sharks to control numbers is a good idea and getting ride the seals will cause the sharks not to come into shore like that. Their coming there for a reason. They smells the seals. It will probably take a few more attacks(a certainty) and in the next few years before the authorities act. I don't believe there was a shark attack for 60 years or so and now a few in the past few. Common sense.

 

For comparison purposes Bradley beach in NJ. The jettys are the only thing even causing any type of jutting out at all, otherwise that beach would be as flat as the edge of a paper.

Down here in the mid-atlantic and southeast, when you have miles of mostly featureless beach

Relocate the seals !! That's awesome.

It's a dangerous world out there, Shark Hunter, but killing sharks and handing an eviction notice to the seals is a little extreme. Dude, sharks are supposed to be in the ocean and they shouldn't be killed just so you can surf without worry. Dude, the ocean is the domain of the seals and sharks. They belong there.

The only reason beaches need to be replenished in nj is because most of the salt marshlands that naturally resupply sand have been destroyed by development on the coastline! Massive amounts of coastline should have been left as a national park then we wouldn't have this insanity. They destroyed these marshes, then the coastline was never able to recover. Now we are stuck either watching the beach completely erode away of setting up jetties, which rob other areas of sand or dumping sand which costs millions to tax payers and destroys sandbars. Now obviously you can still have waves in front a few houses, but you get the idea of what I'm saying. OVERDEVELOPMENT of senstive area's

It all boils down to that particular break, angle of the swell, winds and direction, type of groundswell etc...

There's no way of stating exactly what would be best overall.
