I hate dudes that drop in on you on their last wave...and when you realize they're getting out while you were waiting to kindly tell them that what they did was rude.

Yeah, it happened to me last June, but no worries, I remember his face.

I had a few big scary dogs, like the kind the police send after u when u take them on a foot pursuit, and I have these cats, that don't back down and scare the crap out of my dogs.its pretty funny to watch.the dog knows it can easily kill the cat,but the cat is too fast and has claws.my 1 cat buddy who recently passed away,no joke he was about 26 years old.i rescued him in 92 from the turnpike in Newark, and he was already mybe 6-7 years old, don't know the exact age but he was old.he tormented my last dog who passed, since he was a puppy.u could drop a grenade infront of bud and he wouldn't flinch.and he swung faster than mohammed ali.
    heres a list of dogs I had/have
    1 pointer
    3 pitbulls
    2 german shepherds
    1 Belgian malinois
    2 golden retrievers
    and an akita
that's about 35 years of different dogs and they are a part of the family

"I had a few big scary dogs" seems quite different than "I train dogs for a living"

Training a dog for shutzhund and/or detection takes weeks/months then you give it back to the owner that paid you or if it's your dog you sell it. Hence making a living. I'm not really doubting the dog knowledge but an educated guess says the "making a living at it" seems to be a stretch.

Buuuut... There are probably few mags that would jump at an article about a police dog training, world traveling surfer that's not afraid of northeast winters and sports a phone without a space bar. :)

If I'm wrong...then...well, I'm wrong. Big dog fan here and the trainer aspect stuck in my mind from a previous thread.

Owning a dog and training dogs are completely different. Why cant he train dogs for a living and own dogs as well? Don't know what is true, but I don't see why both can't be.

wow u guys are some real winners.so I must keep every dog I train?nice to see how u track my posts, that makes me feel special.to the idiot who said I am an ignorant dog owner or whatever u said,iv had dogs my whole life.all dogs from 8 weeks old til the day they die.i am a dog person.im more legit than cesar Milan, any scary dog u could think of,dogs running wild, whatever il always confront them.the 2 pits I had were dogs I found wandering the streets, abandoned, and I gave them a home.those are the only 2 I didn't have since puppies.and training dogs isn't a 9-5,its not an everyday thing.its more of a passion,id do it without the money any day.aslong as I get to spend time with as many doggies as possible im a happy man

schutzhund is like the Olympics for dogs.its a sport.im sure since u track my posts,im sure u can find plenty of videos on youtube.tracking starts as a puppy and we don't release the dogs til they are 3.i don't train dogs for regular civilians.most dogs go to high end people and causes.i cant get into detail on where they go,but its not like someone riding up to ur house to teach ur dog to sit and stand for an hour.im not a lifelong dog trainer, like I said its more of a hobby and getting paid for it doesn't hurt.u want to see my magic il personally come to ur or anyones house that has a big dog capable of tracking and I can show u the first stage and within a few hours youll see ur dog do things u didn't know was possible.its a science.science and plenty of patience

It took me years to quit that nasty habit. Picked up during the brief time I attended Texas A&M in 1973. Folks there seemed to be big supporters of the tobacco and alcohol industries.
Snuff is worse than cigs. Quickly addicting and very hard to quit. I think one almost has to be scared into quitting in some way.
I started with Skoal, then later changed to Copenhagen. The amount of nicotine that rushes into the bloodstream when you dip is considerably higher than smoking a cigarette and gives a much bigger buzz.
I had to substitute with Nicorette gum but was then hooked on that for a number of years before quitting altogether. Such addictions are insidious things. I just got too tired of running to the store late at night when running out. The stuff isn't cheap either. No tobacco or nicotine products are. And the type of cancer and related surgeries can be particularly nasty and gruesome as well.
