not the rinky-dink one that used to be in the 6th street parking lot by the amusement park. a proper flow/snake style bowl w/ some other ramps & such. if you skate in nj, this is something you should probably thrown your support behind.

are you guys funding it? Im guessing that they would approve it in a second if it was paid for by private funds.

I might be slow, but I didn't see a petition on the page, either way, good cause and i'm happy to support somehow.

partly. while i'm not directly involved, i believe the town has pledged 150K, but to build the park the group is proposing will cost double or triple that.

Yeah when we built Marsh Creek Skatepark in Raleigh NC the city put $250,000 on the budget but told us we needed 5000 signatures on a petition to get it going. By the time we got the petition signed cost of concrete had gone up and the whole park cost $750,000. Course it is over 10,000 SqFt of skateable terrain with street section flow course and has a pool that goes from 7 ft to 12 ft deep with an oververt clamshell too.

Oooo man we gotta do this! The park we have right now is so darn sketchy is insane. Since they don't let you skate the boardwalk it'd be nicccee. Also, are you saying it is gonna be in the same spot or a dif one?

the current idea is the parking lot near the 6th street fire station across from the tabernacle.

Oh yes I'm sort of familier with that side. Only really been down that far for a funeral. Bummer... But that seems like a bunch of space. I wonder how big they wanna make it.
