    Yeah spicoli, your out of your element. A good solid beach break is hard to find and if you want to get into the shade or surf a wave of consequence you won't be surfing the the LB kooks out at Matunuck. Problem is when you find a nice hollow wave it closes out.. hence the OP saying there a very few breaks where you can get barreled and make an exit. Someone at your level wouldn't get it.

    Same. I've contacted Surfrider, and while I'm not sure there's much they could do at this point, they were previously unaware and are now involved as this plan develops.

    Kudos to Shark-hunter, who has contacted people involved with the project, and was told by them that they're planning on matching the grain size and taking the natural slope of the bech into consideration.

    That being said, I'm not exactly sure of the scope of this project, and whether or not it will be limited to the state beach, in which case certain choice peaks might not be effected. We shall see.

    It's only the state beach. That's a huge section of real estate though to lose rideable waves IF it doesn't go right, but I'm feeling a little better about it now. The state beach is not just in front of the building, but all the way down past the state beach parking lot, which borders the town beach parking lot It's around 3,200 feet that will be filled. That's the limits of the state beach 5280 feet= 1 mile Also, remember that sand will get spread around by longshore currents and storms. It will not stay where it is. It will spread across the entire stretch of beach. That's actually a good thing vs filling the ENTIRE stretch of beach. It allows it to fill in more naturally as long as grains are matched. At least from what I've read.

    Look at the last pic on the last page. The red outline is the limits of the project. That's the state beach limits. It goes a little past the state beach parking lot on both sides. The town beach parking lot is the dividing line where the state beach ends. Now if you look at the countour outlines, -5 is where the dry beach is supposed to be when it's done.
