I was in Puerto Rico last week and saw so many beautiful women in the line-ups. I was wondering if any of the ladies on here have ever been picked up in the line-up. Would this work if some guy tried to hit on you while you were surfing?
haha this is a question really, i dont hit on chicks in the line up i act as if they where another surfer. ,mutual respect.
i agree and think that is something we should try to change. i think on a public forum the more cooks the better the broth...
Honestly, I think there are a bunch of women on this forum but we rarely make it known we're here. Ninety percent of posts end up in a pissing match over who is more of a kook or who is more core. Nearly every topic gets agro pretty quick. We're women, we deal with enough *****es..I think by this point women would probably rather just check the forecast and go get in the water than participate in forum discussions and make repetitive comments about how awesome Belmar NJ is. There is already a limited amount of ladies who surf and do it well where as every guy with a board calls themself a surfer and has to tell everyone about it. But as far as pick up lines in the water..you're probably better off not trying a line at all and just being yourself, sharing the stoke, and having friendly banter with her. But I guess with the way things are on this forum if you did that you probably wouldn't be core enough.
Chill ClemsonSurf, that's why they don't want to join in on the conversations. Let her give her views without getting creeped on...
honestly, i never wanted to be w/ a girl who surfed. it sounds great on the surface, but surfing is my "me" time (for lack of a better term), i don't want to share it or dilute it. it's like not hooking up w/ someone who works at the same place you do...a bad idea. maybe i'm anti-social, but i find myself getting annoyed when my buddies call or text me about meeting up to surf or take a road trip to another spot sometimes. sometimes i screen my calls & ignore texts. i just want to go surfing & do my thing...MY thing, not someone else's, not some compromise between the 2. just what i want to do, when i want to do it. if there's swell in the water & i want to hop in my car pre-dawn & drive up to lbi, i don't want to have to worry about whether my buddy shows up on time or if my wife is ready or if she'll be bored while i surf all morning or all day. thankfully, i have a wife who understands this & doesn't think there's an unspoken invitation when i say, "i'm gonna go up to town x to surf tomorrow." we had that discussion early on in the relationship & she gets it.
took an amusing turn, didn't it? extra credit: what was the name of the girl who gave basically the same speech to mr utah (you know the F B I agent)……...
