Not much impresses my jaded soul anymore.

This woman's spirit & skills impress me beyond words.

 

That's some inspirational sh!t. What a wonderfully positive outlook she maintains as well.

I'm not a very religious person, but Bethany and her family are hard core Christians.
VERY strong belief in God.
They don't mention that much in the video but it's absolutely her/their inspiration.
I would like to think I could find the same inspiration in the face of such horror.
Most people that got their arm chewed off by a giant tiger shark would be bitter nasty POS's, and probably not surfing anymore.

That just adds on to how impressive she is! She could easily be very "in your face" about religion but chooses not to.

There are sooo many verses in the Bible ( GODS WORD ) that get you through things. Here are a couple that work:

Pretty awesome. She really surfs well.

 

Was thinking the same thing recently, seeing her win those events and having seen the movie about her, it's pretty amazing to say the least.

This is a great thread and it's humbling to watch her and hear her speak. There's really nothing but gratitude in her. When we thought our day was going tough...

 

Just an incredible story and great video, to anyone, not just a surfer. I watched this a couple days ago, then showed it to my non-surfing roommate and he was equally if not more in awe of her than I am.

 

She is absolutely amazing! Great surfer and great human being - the epitome of stoke! Her book (Soul Surfer) is well worth reading, too. It gives you further insights into how she has come so far! Aloha spirit at its best!!
