Ya, well, you're kinda wrong if you call me that. Although, when its high tide and shorebreak, I often spunge.

That's sort of the whole point.

But that's kind of lossed on the "core" posters here.

it doesnt take talent to do a air reverse.. well it does but it doesn't. i say we all enjoy the ocean and get along because there are others that try to take the ocean away from us. whether it be nourishment, surf regulations, hating, disgust, and many more to add all of us need to stick together.

Lol @ all you little flamers. Don't worry, you will all probably get laid some day.

    Meanwhile:
    So I posted that boogering is better for travel, durability, and convenience. Now I'll talk about how it's worse;

Surfing is faster and more "stable". It's really better for bigger, faster breaks. Bodyboarding is pretty futile when face are taller than 20 feet. I mean, guys can do it, but there's not much point. At that point you're just bouncing down the face and trying to hang on and beat the shoulder before you get obliterated. A thrill, but not a lot of fun. You really need legs under you to absorb the little shocks at that speed, as elbows and shoulders don't bend the right way for it. Also, late drops into waves that size are for a select few absolutely insane lidders.

I do know a few speedbumps who can keep pace with the fastest shortboarder, but only a few; and I certainly can't. You need to be athletic as hell--we're talking Iron Man status--to pull that off. Beating fast sections or pulling off a honest floater are pretty tough on a sponge, but child's play on a glass spear. Since I'm old, fat, and not motivated, I stick to the sponge for slow square or rampy breaks, the thruster or retro pintail for fast sectiony spots, and the semi-gun for... oh who am I kidding? I just stay on the beach and drink when spots are maxing on a big NW anymore, unless a buddy hooks me up with a boat ride. My days of paddling through TOH insiders to chase rhinos are pretty much over. Eff that ess.

this thread is an early contender for the dumbest, most pointless thread of the year award. **** like this ought to be locked as soon as it's posted.

Sure dude, I know absolutely nothing about bodyboarding. As a matter of fact, I know so little, that I was bodywhomping and bodyboarding some of the most core shorebreak waves on the Left Coast back when we had to buy the kits from Morey and put them together ourselves...back before they were called Booger Boards. So basically, another one of your lame theories gets blown out of the water.

Oh, and as far as all those "bunch of other maneuvers": I hear you guys are real fond of that one particular move, the ARSE (or whatever it's called). I'm sure you guys really get off on busting big ARSE's. Personally, I have no affinity for ARSE. To each his own, I guess.

So you're like 70 years old and had to buy kits to put together a bodyboard so that makes you an expert on perfomance modern pro bodyboarding? LMAO That's like saying anyone who rode a boogie board when their 12 knows all about bodyboarding. Average person has no idea who mike stewart, jeff hubbard ect. are. They don't know that bodyboarders were the first ones to conquer many of the gnarliest breaks in the world. You're just some stereotypical surfer who surfs because that's what his friends/media tell him to do and what the culture tells you is "cool". Travel around sometime and see how many sponges you see in the lineups of some of the serious breaks in Australia, Cali,Hawaii. Dude, standing up on a board is really not that big of a deal. That's basically the difference in learning curve between surfing and bodyboarding. So it takes a summer to get the basics down for surfing. Then after that, it's about even and that's the truth.

ARS = Air reverse spin. Different move than an air reverse. Personally I'd rather roll than an ars. Just looks uncomfortable landing like that for your back. Honestly, the most fun thing is just riding the wave anyway. Tricks are just a little icing on the cake. I don't even do a trick on most of the waves. I'm out there bodyboarding because I love it. I could careless about being core or anything else.

And why are all these surfers invading the bodyboarding forum. Stay on your own damn forum. Not just this thread, but others including people asking about fins. GTFO!

Have you ever been to any of those places?? I am really just curious.

And fyi as someone who has lived in 2 outta the 3 you listed theres not that many spongebobs in the lineups of the major breaks. They tend to have their own stomping grounds. And when they are in the major spots i go back to my comment about them mostly being younger kids. Of course theres and exception to any statement.

And i believe you have so many surfers posting on this one because you are outright challenging them by saying your preferred wave slide is dominant to theirs.

Better question to answer while this annoying exchange continues to carry on...

Why would I ever consider taking shark-hunter off my ignore list?

His post count is clearly higher then the number of hours he's spent in the ocean and actively taking a stand against beach replenishment combined(sorry mang having a temper tantrum on a forum isn't gonna solve the issue). For god sakes, shark-hunter grow up so you can have a beer and chill out already.
