There's so much to discuss here, I'll just feed it to the wolves...
that dude may be a kook but that thing is sick! Be nice to get my hands on one, but not for how much its costs.
I rode a scooter with the same type of suped up 2 stroke engine. It went 35mph and was sketchy. The friggin thing would lift my 190lb a$$ right up and do wheelies. I lost control a few times from over gassing the wheelies, but it was fun. The skateboard version looks pretty dangerous. At least the dude knew he was out of his league.
During the first couple minutes of that video I kept thinking to myself that THIS WILL END POORLY. Sadly, it didn't...pretty anti-climactic if you ask me. Some road rash would have made my day. Anyway, these suckers are under $500. http://www.scooterx.biz/en/gas-skateboards/21-49cc-skaterx-gas-skate-board.html Check this out: it's an "Affordable Extreme Lifestyle". This is the single most boring video of all time, but I couldn't help but laugh out loud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4j62V6dVcI
It's 49cc...no need for a vehicle registration. It's the same as a 49cc moped. Tell the pigs to suck it.
You're right...what I was thinking was you don't need a special license like you do with a motorcycle.
I was also expecting a fantastic wipeout. Pretty anti-climactic. When he was riding away down the street i was secretly hoping he'd meet a car.... Thats bad i know.
i wonder what the DUI policy on this is in most states. I know here in nc you can get a dui on anything with wheels ridden on the roadway (even a skateboard). However, horses are dui proof. It would be sweet to find a state where you could cruise to the bars and back on this, assuming you survived the ride home.
NC is wack! CA law: Vehicle Code § 670 states that “[a] “vehicle” is a device by which any person or property may be propelled, moved, or drawn upon a highway, excepting a device moved exclusively by human power or used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.” So, the answer is no. A bicycle is not considered a vehicle within the meaning of the DUI statute Vehicle Code § 23152(a) or (b). Unfortunately it does not end here. Knowing that you might be drinking a little too much to be safe behind the wheel of a car you ride your bike thinking you’ll play it safe. I can’t be a danger on the road if I ride my bicycle. I’m a good citizen. Right? Well, not according to our smart law makers. There is a specific section of the Vehicle Code that makes it a misdemeanor to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. What is this ridiculous law? Vehicle Code § 21200.5 is the nanny state law that allows an officer to arrest you for riding your bicycle while having a little too much to drink. Usually a misdemeanor has the possibility of jail. Under Vehicle Code § 21200.5, you cannot be fined more than $250.
There was a time in OBX, NC when you could raise your drink to a cop at a traffic light and drink away as long as you weren't drunk.
Although does anybody else think he looks like a fatter version of the Dog Whisperer guy? Ceasar Milian?
Hahahaha yes this is a good call. He's James Bond though, didn't you hear him. How bout his honky girl behind the lens? "This is Back To The Future." Really sistah??
Gotta good laugh outta that. Brought back drunken college daze memories....what I could remember anyway.
