yes, it exists and have seen photos that look quite fun. I'd imagine the further south you are the better exposed to the fetch in the Mediterranean you will be.
Thats actually pretty funny that you posted that bc i got an email about a surf mission trip to Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. Dont know if anyone out there has done surf mission trips but i went on my first 3 years ago to Costa Rica and it was the most rewarding expereince ever. Since then ive surfed and done mission work in Nicaragua, Puero Rico, and El Salvador. Not only do you get to surf epic waves and find untouched breaks with the locals, but you get to give back to the people of the country and when ur not surfing ur building huts, feeding the poor, and playing soccer with the orphans...Great Adventure. .Im going back to El Salvador this summer but this Middle East Trip looks sick... Check it out. http://surfingthenations.com/ Surfing Egypt A team of 19 from Surfing the Nations leave November 28, 2008 to surf Egypt and Israel.
Which season? What is the best season for swell in Israel? I'll be there next summer for a few weeks. That would be sick if I could get in a sesiion or two (in between all the hiking and historic sight-seeing ill be doing).
hey, i've actually surfed in israel before. I lived there for a little while a few years ago. anyway, you can hit some decent swell in the med. sea if conditions are right. I've seen it head high at the tel-aviv beaches right along the prominade. there is a cool surf shop around there that i've rented boards from. anway. tel-aviv, hertzalia or how ever you spell it seems like it could be good too. i've also seen people surfing waist high waves in casarea (near the roman fortress looking building i think). tel-aviv prominade is where i've seen it the biggest. could get crowded there tho. hope that helped.
yea it helped... at least a little something to look forward to if there is swell. So you're from OG huh? pretty cool im from that area too. Have you been to that new surf shop that opened up in Asbury yet?
So where's the place to be in Israel during the summer? I'm hoping to get in the water sometime in Tel Aviv.
no i just want to find a spot that has decent enough surf so that i can jump in the water for a few days.
