Doesn't matter, It's done every year.

It's once every 3-5 years and generally not that bad considering the good sand they use from about 70th south. It just sucks they are doing it so late this year. Tax dollars are not wasted from OC or Maryland's perspective when the sand is protecting 12 miles of hundred of millions in tourist revenue. Be smarter and fight for good sand, earlier pump times to give the winter / spring storms time to move the sand around. It only takes one or two good storms to get the sandbars working again from midtown south.

surfed Saturday...after my session, went north of the pumping where it was already done...really didn't look bad from what I saw...but still not optimum. Compared to beach pumping done years in the past, it ruined the entire surf zone up and down oc.

It's done every 4 years. It's not that horrible right now, 70th south to 48th seems to have been skipped (although they may double back).

It ended at 71st and went right to 48th, however I haven't looked down the balcony in a few days so I can't say whether it's moved north of 48th. I can say 100% that it has not been done from 70th to 69th.

from what i can tell from the cam, at least one foot of sand has already been washed away at 48th in the past few days from where it was the highest.

I know, I am so so late, but for anyone who looks at this again, there is a very simple solution for shortboarders and longboarders alike....

    Solution:
    Assateague.
