crazy like the lineup in Narragansett today? I wonder if I ate something different the angry dudes and speedbumps would have stayed home. ****, I had sausage egg and cheese on sour dough.
oh yea...i may have told this story here already, but oh well...ordered a CI for my trip to the maldives a few years back. put the order in around mid-april, trip was mid-august. plenty of time, right? wrong. i figured i'd have the board in more than enough time to give a surf or 2 to get the feel, as i'm never super comfortable filling limited boardbag space w/ an unknown board. board arrived end of july, early august. for some reason, my board & another custom were laid out on the floor of the shop after being unpacked. some dude's little toddler is tear-assing around the boardroom & dad isn't saying boo. toddler kicks my board, which spins on the flat spot & whacks a rack, cracking the rail. thing is barely out of the box 24hrs & already has a ding. i load it up, take it over to my ding guy's place for a speed fix. on the way over, i get cut off in traffic (it is summer, afterall) & the board slides around a bit in the back of my truck & the tail cracks. 2 dings, less than 48hrs. & never seen water. get the board back from the ding guy a couple days before the trip. decide i'm taking it anyway, even if i've never ridden it, b/c **** it, right? i spent the money & dealt w/ these headaches, i figure the thing's going to be magic, or if not, maybe i'll break it. well, pretty much it was magic. waxed it up & rode the first session over there & never got off it. the board was the tits. last morning of the trip, i got clipped in the barrel & the board flipped underneath me, & i put my elbow through the rail. fine, whatever, it's the last day, right? we're going home soon, so i'll just bodysurf the rest of the day. no need to wax up another board. on the flight home, pilot decides to hit some moguls on the way across the atlantic, & skips a suitcase the length of the board, leaving a series of pressure dents along the bottom of the board. now, remember, this is a board w/ prob. fewer than 50 sessions on it at this point. got home, got it fixed & rode it the rest of hurricane season, which was pretty damn good as i recall. it died a noble death the following year when i folded it in half during the irene swell.
I have a problem with new things and ruining them so I go by years without using a new board or new wetty.last time I bought a surfboard was 2008.i have 2 new wetsuits and I still been using my old suit.i buy new clothes but don't wear them, but a new pair of shoes last year and there still in the box.im always too busy with work I only have time for 3 things, surfing, smoking, and sleeping
It can depend on the time of year but always need... Honey Roasted Peanuts from Food Lion (as good as name brand and half the price). Always have it for post sesh red wine with a shot of sprite. quick 1/2 bottle buzz and gets a jacked up feeling soda pop and water. Sugar gets you ready for another round quick fudge cookies man. So good and keeps moving After Sesh at home.. LiteLife Burgers with a tomato slice, guacamole, fried egg, jelly, and cheese Mac n cheese quesadillas ith as many veggies plus a meat and cheese While getting everything cleaned off, I recommend skinless chicken with paprika, lemon (put lemon on everything, its good for digestion and scurvy prevention), All Seasons blend or salt n pepper, olive oil (on bottom), red wine vinegar, and a little bit of butter. Takes about 45 minutes but the peanuts and red wine should keep you going about your business until that is done and you then have delicious food that will impress a chick but more importantly, your stomach.
Thanks for sharing K2 brah. Sounds like you're on the soul food diet. I'm sure them wahines do fancy your cheffin skills. Realized two nights ago that food literally tastes worse to me the slower I eat it. Think about that. My taste buds are morphing their receptors with every waning second of my intake. Swear to Laird. If Starchy hadn't locked himself in his bunker for good I could have him tell me the conspiracy behind it as we'll as the elusive MOL.
i got washed into it once; it was hairy….idk now (i know its gone) but back in the day some or many takeoffs were directly in front of it…and holding it well.
