got the sorkys last week. tried em out over the weekend and today (with the hood off). so far so good. they come with an applicator to insert them into your ear. i keep thinking they are going to get flushed out with a good wipeout, but they really havent budged yet. only a couple sessions in, so time will tell, but seem to be pretty decent. they prevent all water from entering my ear while still maintaining almost all hearing.
Left the damn doc plugs on the roof, and drove off. Crap. Only time my tinnitus didn't bother me was when the cicadas were running this summer.
I guess its better safe than sorry, never seen the need for earplugs,i have seen countless victims get their ears drilled out and does not look fun.idk maybe if ur in the water in the winter every single day,but I been surfing winter for 15+years and never had a problem.my eyes give me more of a problem than my ears when I get out the water
Docs have not worked for me either, Macks work better, but there is plenty of room for improvement IMO
Just received my SurfEars. Pretty keen to try them out ASAP. Oh wait....there's no waves in sight for the next month...
I got mine Friday, and surfed them saturday. Compared to my custom Westones, they stayed in better and allowed sound in better. I was very happy! Plus one for Kickstarter!
nice Also, apparently it is common for surfers in areas with prevalent winds from one side or another to get an ear infection in one ear or another, regardless of temp. I SAID, IT IS COMMON FOR SURFERS....
I don't think they are for sale yet, outside of their kick starter campaign, which is where I bought mine. They were selling for $60 AUD, which is close the USD right now.
Glad you posted that Betty, I forgot to check the email. $59.00 US, here's the link. http://shop.surfears.com/
any of you guys have a chance to use yours yet? im sure we will get some feedback after this weekends swell.. fingers crossed
