So on Sunday I went out and got this weird rash. it doesn't look like a rash but more like a big bug bite. It kind of started of as two small dots and formed into a large red dot. This was in NJ and I don't know if it was from the water or if I got bitten by something. When I went to pick up my glove there was a spider there, maybe a spider bite? Any speculations?

It could be a spider bite. We have Brown Recluse Spiders in NJ.
    Ingrown hair? Dracula? Smurf nibbles?

I think you got it spot on with the smurf nibbles. they can really be a pain in the ass

In all seriousness, you need to go get that checked immediately. MRSA is quite common in the coastal ocean now. You could easily have picked up MRSA or a staph infection. Those things are nasty, they move very quickly once they have a host to feed upon (that would be you) & yes they can kill you. You will need to have the doc do a quick cut & lab test - - don't settle for some dingdong ER person telling you it's just a rash.

Ask Timmy Turner. Ask Ryan Carlson.

And the brown recluse spider does cause necrosis with its bite, but I'd bet the farm that you didn't get bit by a spider.

    Get that checked out, today.

This is good advice. I had an infected hair follicle this winter that my doctor attributed to wearing a wetsuit multiple times a week. It inevitably got worse and I ended up with a staph infection. Get it checked or you'll end up watching from the beach for the next few weeks at least...

I am not really seeking medical advice. Just asking if anyone one got a rash like mine while they were surfing, but your honesty is appreciated

I got a few weird bumps surfing Dominical, CR after heavy rains. There are pig farms upriver, and it was the foulest water ever. But I've never been to Jerzy. Who knows what it is? I'd put lots of extra strength neosporene on it every hour and if it doesn't look better tomorrow, go see a doctor. If it doesn't heal in a few days, it might be too late to get rid of if it's a bad staph infection, without massive antibiotics.

Same thing happened to me. Surfed after a rain in CA, the doc blamed an ingrown hair, but it was magnified by the dirty water... I let it go on and on, after a couple weeks, I couldn't walk. The rash turned to a scab, the scab surfaced, then one day in the shower, the scab came off, exposing about a 3 inch deep hole in my leg that went all the way through the muscle tissue about the width of a dime... Once the scab came off, I had no pain anymore. It must have killed the nerves around it.... After a week of antibiotics and a month out of the water, I was good to go.... But it all started with a little "rash"
