After seeing this significant swell in the development i immediately called work to arrange off on saturday (in the restaurant industry this is usually impoosible). Got my excuse ready but to no avail was scheduled still for a double. Just got the schedule and by some strange miracle IM OFF! Despite my recent eye problems which have left me to not wear contacts and apply drops for a week. I should be good to go by Saturday. Pumped to not stay in SNJ and surf ****ty chest high waves when up north will be firing.
And I am right there with you... with a 1 year old and a wife that plans my weekends out for me weeks in advance. stars aligned and I am psyched to see the blip for saturday. Holy heck I am jaazzed up ...I'm like Jojo the idiot circus boy with a pretty new pet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1EyN9xTK94
Friggin jinxers, unreal. There is potential, that's it! Good luck anyway, and if you have some wave producing voodoo, do it! Until then, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
angle looks less than perfect, SSE is perfect, but I am a bit jealous, I remember those puuurrrrffeeecct days good luck boys and BWM, check your PM and keep your yap shut and doug, there is a front coming, might go down a notch, angle might change, but it looks like swell is on the way regardless
I got to surf with AI during hurricane bill a few years ago. I was like, who the f is this ripper...........then I was like, oh sh!t. I was stoked to surf the same sandbar with him.
understandable but beware some days better north and some south and some days - true dis - both regions excel so imo careful not to RUN AWAY from it.
Dudes, it is the eve of some swell. I have been in the parking lot at work, skipping back and forth from end to end all morning... I go from Wind-Sprint-Skipping, to slow, long distance skipping.... People keep coming outside, asking me what I am doing.... "TRAINING GOD *&^% IT, CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?" I lash back at them all with a loud scream, wiping the tears from my eye's and telling them that this pollen is really getting to me. Can't wait to get my prance on when I paddle out tomorrow. And, its finally speedo weather with water temps to match.... Don't let your old ladys hit the beach any time soon, cause I don't want to see you guys all bent outta shape when your women have their sunglasses half way down their noses, checking out the show. I don't want to be the cause of any domestic violence in the car-ride home. "I saw you giving that speedo wearing, wave shredding, sand skipping love machine the elevator eyes... SLAP"
every south swell OC-CO and MOCO out perform ATCO and CMC, from my decades of experience. If I was back east, Id hit a certain set of bars in an isolated part of the 'jersey shore' happy hunting
I work in a restraint also, I usually only work mornings which leaves me with dawn patrol and during the summer when its light later dusk sessions. I also worked last Saturday and Sunday morning, and they usually copy and paste the schedule. Like you said its impossible to get off and im lucky I have time for 3-4 hour sessions in the morning so I never bother trying to get off when there's swell. Any way got my schedule. Work Saturday night which gives me all day to surf, don't go in to work til 4. Then im off Sunday and Monday, those two days look smaller then Sat but offshore winds. Sat ill paddle out for but its going to be onshore conditions. Needless to say this swell will fit my schedule very nicely.
I didn't happen yet, and it's not obligated to happen either. All we can do is hope, not expect. Nature will make the final call, not us. Do surf voodoo and zip it jinxaroni.
Word on the street is that Belmar is going off! The swell direction is just right for this north jersey break! It's not even worth checking any other local spots- head right to Belmar for this one!
