You know what sucks? When your wife buys you a longboard for your birthday, its 3 days later and the outlook for the following 7 days is a complete emergency room flatline. I mean, if there was such a thing as a "negative swell" that is what I have to look forward too.

Figures... I mean, I wouldn't even complain if I saw a 1-2 foot day in the near future. I would take this thing out in ankle high slop, but its not even looking like that is an option...

DAMNIT! I am sure glad I got out a few days in a row for that last swell, even on the junky, blow out beginning of it... But man... 2 straight weeks of lake like conditions, followed by 2 more... This is killing me.

Good point, can't argue with that!

Looks like a potential 3 ft bump for tomorrow in NJ, although I just checked my local spot and it looks like a lake, hopefully it builds to a longboardable bump

Gotta love when the OH swells 5 days out disappear after being on the radar for only 2. A mirage.

I'm going to be a rebel and turn this thread around....how about that awesome feeling when it was supposed to be knee high all weekend and it looks like a fun little swell is on its way.

My whole life I was a summer surfer for the most part. . .Then I got my car and everything changed. last 4 5 years I been surfing all year and taking trips and I have almost completely given up surfing in the summer. I just go to work everyday and don't even think about it. Im lucky too because last year there were no waves ever. Im counting down the days till labor day when we can get the real season started again. I do have a good feeling about hurricanes this year though, which are always good.

Just walked to the beach, waves have definitely built up to thigh high from a lake this morning.
I am not too crazy about the break I'm next to, no jetty and the waves break far out, then mush, then break again at the shore break. It's a pure beach break with a crap sandbar, no jetty/structures.

Could somebody do me a favor and PM me a good spot to go to in the morning that breaks decent in the seaside/lavalette/irately beach area? I am from up north and not familiar with the breaks in Ocean County!

Yes, bro. Swell half full outlook is key. Thanks for getting us right in the head braddah.

Almost scored a LB today but they sold it faster than I could get there!!!! Still looking. The more I think about getting rides on next to nothing instead of not, the more I get stoked about summer flatness.

Looks as if we're flat-lining well after the holiday weekend. Kind of an ominous start to the summer.

Well I don't know where all you guys where- but all the summer pros where out there today shredding the sick and epic waves... Idk maybe you where there??

Looks like it's official - time to pack up the boards and put on the tool belt until the first hurricane... Home cheapo anyone??
