just found out I have effin hernias and have to have surgery. Still surfed today though..

I have this condition where I eat cereal in the morning.

Yeah, I've had the double hernia surgery. Pounded my female former pound buddy one night and my sac was more than twice its normal size!! By the morning it receded, but I went to the doc anyway, and had surgery soon thereafter. Make sure its a reputable and experienced vascular surgeon. Mine still hurts sometimes.

I had severe asthma as a child, and was also temporarily paralyzed due to Guillain-Barre syndrome (luckily making a full recovery).

I've been in two flipped cars in one year and fallen thirty feet from a tree.

Also, I was bitten by a poisonous spider on the abdomen, and yet again my sac swelled to the size of a softball. Adirondacks + no insurance = waited it out.

 

If not true, almost true. I was applying for life insurance, and a contracted company called to conduct a medical history interview over the phone. The interviewer seemed to have little in the way of medical knowledge and was just following a checklist. However, she had access to prescription records dating back quite a ways. She would ask why I had been prescribed such and such medication over 5 years ago. On some questions, it was too far back to recall. Also, there had been times when I picked up a Rx but never used it. I was a bit surprised this person had access to this (and other?) info. There are so many laws and regs nowadays about about "privacy protection" - whatever that actually means.

Back to topic.
I found out a couple years back that I had a mild scoliosis of the spine. That came as a big surprise. I'm 58 now. Although I think it explained some the back pains I've increasingly experienced over the years while standing or running for extended periods.
Addictions to alcohol and nicotine that I struggled with and finally overcame. Almost 31 years since my last drink. Quit while in the Navy.
Metal that put was in me and is still there from a broken ankle while playing roller hockey 20-plus years ago.
And of course, there's hay fever. Had that since I was a kid. It wasn't so bad this Spring except after mowing the lawn.

I have one on my stomach and one in my groin. I didn't even know the one in my groin was there. The doctor found it while he was man handling my balls. Bare handed I might add... which was weird.

What do you mean hurt? like debilitating pain on occasion? a constant pain?? has it effected anything you do on a regular basis?

Nah, not debilitating pain at all, just minor sharp pains here and there, rather inconsistently. I had double groin hernias, so I got matching scars. You, on the other hand, will be an asymmetrical freak.

 

I've had Priapism for years. It's very painful, but chicks dig it.

 

I asked for the tug, he refused. And he did use the term "asymmetrical freak", but I thought he was referring to the 90 degree bow in my shaft.

 

the past three years,age 48-51,have been debilitating for me as far as I used to just go surfing and now I can barely get up to my feet on the board,thanks to needing new hips and then a deadly sarcoma,removal of the femoral rectus so I now have a tri instead of a quadriceps plus the burnt leg from radiation has the soft tissue as hard as a rock so I can't move,but I still got some waves the past couple days,though it's a total struggle to get up on my feet

 

Almost checked out permanently due to staph infection, on a serious level. Hospitalized, etc, doctor wasn't confident. Barely pulled out of that one.

Nothing worse than the prospect of going out slow and on your back, at the hands of an enemy that you can't fight. Id much rather check out on my own terms.
