Insane! Why don't they shoot from this angle more often?

well the logistics of getting a heli out to the middle of nowhere in the south pacific have been daunting to say the least the last 50 or so years.

with drones i'm sure we'll see this angle much more often in the future.

there were like 20 drone vids from Pipe this past winter alone. (not saying they weren't all amazing)

Yeah, that size, at that angle looks like a pretty epic, easy day in the water. Looks like that first deep section gets a little too fast, but if those guys woulda slowed down a bit in some of those open face pockets, there were some mini shacks to be had. When you have that much time to line up and think about your backside bottom turn, you know it's a fun day. I would take Cloudbreak at that size all day long. Not so much when it's maxing and huge.

On a day like that I could surf there! I never realized how long that left is. I guess when it's big the wave just covers all that distance really fast! Nice video. Perfect watch for a flat spell.

sighhh, that looks like so much fun (especially since I'm bored out of my mind in a cube farm right now...). I would love to just drop everything and go to a place like cloudbreak on a whim

I was watching a bunch of vids last night, this cloudbreak clip had me searching through tons of surf footage by drones. Came across this steamer lane clip and it's a really cool perspective. Def going to have to check out this spot when I make my way to the left side

That Steamer Lane vid was nice...two things that surprised me:

    1/Super close to the rocks take-off @ 0:35.

2/Pretty surprised to see a sponger at the Lane 1:30...I'd personally expect a hassle at places like Steamer Lane, Lowers, etc.

Ya that take off was sketchy lol. And knowing me if I tried to make the climb down the cliffside I'd be the jacka$$ that would slip and fall into the water. That first bluff that slopes down to the water looks like a much safer way into the water/lineup. It's pretty cool getting an aerial perspective on spots and getting a read on the landscape, you notice so many more things lol
