And I am confused by the southern references. We got unfairly bounced long ago by the left wing politicians running this "contest" on surfline.

Well we are closing in the gap…. We actually took the lead earlier this afternoon, but unfortunately the Northeast pulled some strings and were able to jump 700 ahead.

FORTUNATELY we have climbed back up, and although are still down 440, are in closer striking distance than 700. So if you could keep sharing the link… that'd be great.

    Thanks for the support.

    Brett,

You are a great surfer and a seemingly great guy. I wish you the best of luck. I live in NJ and have seen Sam Hammers wizardry and experienced his good guyness. I voted North East because I have surfed with him before.

I think everyone in the contest is worthy of the prize cash.

    Sincerely,
    A sincerely mediocre surfer

Ahh, The Coffee Shop. Haven't heard that name in awhile. I was all aboot Cape May Ave. My buddy used to work for the older Willem at that place they owned or something.....some fish eatery? I don't know either Willem, but I have my reason for adopting Conor Willem as my go to New Jersey pro. He's lucky, as he's barely in the confines of South Jersey proper. Way too much North Jersey influence in LBI these days. I miss LBI.

My buddy also worked with Doc at another place, and I would go to his pad sometimes and try and peddle substances. Good times...good times. Doc bought us beer sometimes, and we drank the beer. OMG, they were so cool - the dudes who hung around Doc's. So cool. LBI dudes muy macho and cool. They scary like Patterson and Baltimore.

Man, I used to write-off anywhere south of LBI and now look at me - stuck in Atlantic County. Life's strange, man.

If you mention blondish hair, LBI, and good surfing you can't say anybody else but Justin Citta. He is the greatest surfer ever to come from New Jersey. Totally cool.

The greatest character with blonde hair was this dude Mike Escra or something or other. Total rebel. Mike Roth was cool, but he might think he's too cool these days. I don't know.

My point is: Real surfers have blonde hair. Real American characters have blonde hair. All those dudes I just mentioned were young, and had fabulous blonde hair. Just amazing. They were totally cool.
