It seems many of you have already gone peepee in your panties. After an unspecified number of panties gets unnecessarily ruined by urin, some of you may learn something.

Lucky for you's, SI is giving out a promissory note/guarantee with each impending swell appearing on their daily outline of the future. You can't lose, ever.

If it isn't completely blown out with thunderstorms, Thursday should be ok here. Looks like the morning will be big but sh1tty (15+ mph on shore), as the tide is coming in. However, the afternoon will have the potential for clean barrels, since the wind moves to offshore and dies off a bit. The tide will be working against this one.

How does the folly are handle that outgoing tide? I plan on hitting it in the morning thursday, just for the sake of size. Those heavy wind calls are usually over calls (down here), so I think it should be somewhat mellow with a little morning sickness on it, but with the tide push and the peak in the swell, I think I have to try it in the morning. Probably 9-10am or so...

Plus, it looks like by that time, the center of the storm should be pretty far north of us, so hopefully, that wind will drop and switch offshore a little early.

Either way, I plan on thursday morning regardless. I am not messing the the swell killing tide down here. Its brutal.

If it holds up size to low tide, it will be breaking on the beach. Sometimes you get lucky with the right sandbar and it breaks deep enough to still have fun. I am not sure about the Washout. I have been to 6th Street a couple times in the last year. IOP is riddled with bars, so something will be working. I know strong onshore winds don't play well with decent swell here. I am not interested in head high closeouts.

Yeah, I am looking at the swell again... says 5-8feet thursday morning down here. We SHALL see what really happens. I would love to dust off the HPSB and get the blood pumping. Don't think my hair has gotten wet in a month.

Hunting & Fripp Islands are calling for a good surge when the tide is on the rise so the AM should be prime assuming it's not a blowout. Things always are a bit perplexing though when the tide heads out and the surge gets interrupted by the bars offshore. As with many things in life, timing is everything.

Yup, I have heard that Hunting handles the tides much better than down on HHI. Wish I had time to go up there. I can throw a stone at it, but its a 1.5 hour drive. Dont have a boat yet. Im sure it will be good....

Our window is small. Once it gets about due east of us, it will throw the maximum swell at us. Soon as it clears Gaskin, it should be prime for a few hours... Like you said, as long as its not victory at sea during that time frame. Cause by late afternoon, that dropping tide is killing anything in the water.

In the last 6 hours, it changed. Thursday morning red turned to green. Just as I had hoped. Dropped a foot already, but I will take 4-7 and clean. no doubt. The forecast is the LAW, so yes, this WILL happen.

These forecasts can be as fickle as the storms themselves as I have seen green turn to red and vice versa in a short time. Still a ways out however, if it's 4-7' clean & green come Thursday morning I'll double up on the Wheaties before heading out.

I already cleared my whole schedule for the morning, so regardless of the outcome, I will be out in it all morning. Talking via PM to others in the local crew to see whats going to be best that morning. We will all just have to wait and see. We will know more 24 hours from now, and by bedtime tomorrow night, I will know where the hell I am headed at least.

Regardless, the WORST case scenario thursday down here is much better surf than we have had lately. Onshore, offshore, who cares. I just called my wife and told her to look in the garage and tell me how everything looks. She asked me why all the shortboards hanging on the wall seem to have boners right now. I replied: Ohh, they each just hope I pick them come thursday morning. They have been growing old and grey and haven't gotten any wet, barreling snatch in way too long

Cool. This thread started a few days ago as speculation and now it's reality. I love it when a plan comes together. 'Tis the time to pull your favorite shortboard off of the wall and get after it !!!
