Storm must have peaked in the night in RI. July 4 in the a.m. Was sloppy, early evening was nice and this morning, July 5, was clean and chest high in Narragansett. Finally got dialed in on my asymmetric board, it was fun! But no storm swell. We were hoping for head high Point Judith. Didn't happen at all.
here on the hhi the swell sucked i was very dissapointed it was like 3 foot and the crossshore winds jacked it up.
Still a small peeler coming in this evening before fireworks: Video from yesterday evening, some Go Pro from this morning (Hi Hanna) and some brief fireworks this evening: https://vimeo.com/100015351 Ryan
I also got a quick video from the swell that came in from Arthur! (44 seconds long) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqOryEGNaVc
yeah I basically watched it more than the surfcams did! I even went down at night after my weak longboard sessions of ripping 18 inch waves. It never made it into the western most area of long island. I Should have hit long beach...
I was in the water until 8pm.... were there waves...yes, were there waves bigger than 1 to 1.5 foot. Not that I saw.
that. i was SO READY FOR IT. still blew it. wind wrong, tide yuk, beach pumped and life guards and…..no tales to tell.
This picture only applies to very long period swells, which this swell wasn't. Surfed in MoCo from 6pm til dark, and sets were well overhead/double overhead, and other beaches were closed out/couldn't handle it.
Ryan bro!! Thanks for posting the awesome pics and video! You always got the sweeetest videos and pics- I always get stoked! Miss that spot bro and those days- thanks for including the end wave with jerry lol
