Some friends and I are leaving for Nicaragua on Thursday and one of my friends dog decided he needed to chew on his passport. Has anyone travelled with a damaged passport? Has anyone had to have one replaced almost overnight? Here is the passport:<br /> passport.jpg

You can travel with that passport, it doesn't appear that the photo or any of the security features have been damaged. Just tell them when you land "se lo comio el perrito", and they will place their stamp on your visa page.

    Lived there for 5 years.
Most most the time they wont let you into CR or Nicaragua with damaged passport, they nearly turned me away in San Jose to go back to Miami. Only way to fix it is at the Embassy in person. If you are flying home to country of Origin, probably no problem otherwise they can deny access at the border crossings and you are stuck...Good luck. Dont go back without a new one for sure.

I don't have anything to add to this thread except:

    1. I am in Nicaragua (popoyo) right now and the waves are completely flat. You are coming when the swell is picking up so be stoked. The last few days have been small but what a great place to surf even though its crowded.
    2. They didn't stamp my passport but rather stamped a piece of paper and put it in my passport which I found to be strange.
    3. You are going to get bum rushed by cabbies at the baggage claim but you probably already know that and also have a plan to get around.
    Enjoy

you have enuf time to fix that. i feel strongly you SHOULD NOT travel with it in that condition.
there are next day services or you can go direct to passport office in philly.
basically if immigration dudes in nic want to give you a hard time you are giving them
    a leg to stand on.
