going to be cold. so im thinking a 4/3 or higher. with a hood. this is prob the latest ill be out for this year.

i only have 3mm booties and gloves. would those keep most of the cold out or am i going to still freeze. i dont mind being a bit cold. just dont want to cramp.

also i have to pick up a 4/3 or higher. its my christmas gift. cant be over 300 so my question is whats a good pick for up to that price.

but so far ill be rocking Xcel 3mm infiniti booties( havent used them yet so i can exchange them for a thicker set if need be)

Oneil 3mm physco gloves( also not used yet so i can exchange these also)

let me know what ya guys think is best.

Im gonna try it tomorrow. I still dont got the gloves or the hood  so thats gonna suck. But you should be good with 3mm booties for a little while. Just make sure you stretch a bunch so you don't cramp up.

Under $300, check some deals on the local surf shops, most got deals on winter suits right now, cause they're trying to clear old inventory. Im sure you'll have some luck.

    And good luck :D

I'm a bit of sissy, but I'm still wearing a 4/3 w/built in hood (oneill mutant). But I'll be switching to my 6/5/4 pretty soon. I wear 5mm boots and gloves - if my hands and feet get cold I'm done.

Any of the new suits are warm; flexability can vary but for $300 you can get a great suit.

    good luck

no gloves are going to hurt you right now... and if your duck diving enough, ice cream headaches are certain.

i'm not ready to put on the 5mill gloves and boots yet......i fight that step with all i can...

everyone has a different cold tolerance so it's hard to get advice on what you should wear....

a 4/3 is all i need to get through our winters......i drink alot of water and coffee before a cold session so i can warm myself up....

there are 2 kinds of people in the surfing community.......

    1. people who pee in their wet suits and.....
    2. people who lie about peeing in their wet suits.....

I don't think you understand, I have a pair of 5mills they suck. I have had another pair of 5mills same company they suck. Listening to you about going with 3mills makes no sense thanks for the feedback though....

why do they suck? I've had mine for 3 seasons. no leaks, a bit cold in the dead of winter but they are the best for bodyboarding. Unless of course you want to put a 5mm ripcurl boot on and cram your foot into some xl hydro tech finz...

I don't know my friend and I have the same ones and like as soon as we step in the water it goes right threw... no visible holes or anything. Iv have always used H20 (2 different pairs) and have had the same prob. I'm buying new ones at kcoast 2marow hopefully I won't have the same experience.
