does anyone that surfs like metal or hardcore? metal being : the acacia strain, emmure, recon, ion dissonance, eternal lord hardcore being : pulling teeth, trapped under ice, terror, the ghost inside, cold war, steel nation? anyone? seems like in every surf video there is either jack johnson boring generic surfers are mellow ****, or awful rock music that they don't even broadcast on the radio. comments?
Whats wrong with mellow stuff? And whats wrong with other rock that isn't popular. Just cause it isn't broadcasted on radio stations doesn't mean its not good. In fact, most of the stuff I listen to isn't broadcasted at all.
"super fish" i got a question. i'm not too into metal and hardcore but i do listen to some older metallica and megadeath and such but my question is whats the difference between metal and hardcore? just wondering.
first, i dont have a problem with mellow music, it just stereotypes surfers. it further stereotypes surfers when they think that they need to insert a mellow song because they think that every surfer wants to hear it behind a surf vid. secondly LES FREESE plays the most god awful rock songs in the backgrounds of his videos. if you want to hear some "bad rock" go to his surfside tx videos and prepare yourself for terriblness. even though that isnt a word. It seems like there is either mellow or LES FREESE rock behind the videos and i am hoping for a revolution in the surf video background music scene. the difference between metal and hardcore is that metal is more influenced by the music and sound of the guitar. hardcore is based off a different genre, punk. hardcore and punk have more simple rifts than metal does. Metallica is more of a popular metal band. By me saying the acacia strain as metal, is technically wrong because there are retarded people out their who tend to mix and make up new genres which makes bands harder to place...in a genre. theyre actually considered metal/hardcore/death metal to make everything more simple (sarcasm) hopefully that cleared things up
Yeah I Like to crank up some hardcore metal so loud it makes your ears bleed, put some gator clips on my nipples and crank about 30 amps through them and head bang so hard all the way to the beach that my hair is longer than when I left.
hatebreed, slayer, slipknot, all out war,and of the best LAMB OF GOD. a little easy listining before you hit the water always makes for a better day
abr is pretty good. theyre from lancaster pa, and im from york which is right beside lancaster. ive seen them probably around 7 times...chariot kinda sounds all the same time me, kinda like norma jean, just my impression
i bet super fish listens to the jonas brothers and fall out boy and metro station etc beofre he surfs. just like the charts tell him too.
Im down with some metal-listening to some Cradle of Filth and Opeth Hardcore-American Nightmare, Terror, Hatebreed, Pig Destroyer, and Im definitely down with some older stuff- Suicidal Tendencies, DRI Just some examples
we should make our own video with the most ridiculous clips and the most brutal music...even though no one would watch it
As far as personal choices in music there has to be a pretty large spectrum of music that most people like. Yea i mostly get down with Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, Sublime and stuff like that but I can go to things like certain hip hop like beastie boys, Talib Kweli, A Tribe Called Quest, or del the funky homosapien. As far as harder music towards the metal/Hardcore I don't listen to anything to crazy, because whenever i hear a metal singer start raging out and yelling inaudible crap i can't handle it. I'll take bands like Dragon Force, or Rage Against The Machine. I Started my interest in music in the popular metal from the mid 90s i just lost interest when it became alright to scream sounds and call it music. Oh and just a heads for a new one i just found, go check out the gaslight anthem they sound like a punkier version of Springsteen, which is a weird thing to say but they rip so check em out.
