funny thing is...... if you watch the rest of slater's wave, he finishes rippin it then cruises in on his ass, almost certainly his last wave of the day. now i ask... wimpy move on slater's part? also, you really cant tell who dropped in on who because both guys were up and riding. Is Slater trying to use the "star card" here? Move was still sooooooo butter totally worth posting.
Yup, he burned and bailed. I love Kelly, but he was wrong there. He dropped in on the guy, then said something to him, maybe the guy gave him the nod to keep going and Kelly just accidentally clipped him, but Kelly burned him either way. There could be more to it, I.E. they had verbal communication on it before they took off and the guy had conceded, but video doesn't lie. One of my worst video moments, was on one of the better backside waves I have of myself on film. About head high at a reef break, it A-Frames and there is a tiny, short left hand barrel and a much better right. Anyway, its basically a split peak and when its comes, one guy goes right, one guy goes left. I literally spoke to the guy as the wave was coming, I was lined up to go right, he was left. I even said, "are you going left" he repies, "Yup", so I take off and as soon as I drop in, you see the guy decide to go right, and at that very moment, the wifey turned the camera on, so all you see if me look back, identify that someone is behind me, and continue to surf, roundhouse to bottom turn to a big into a big backside hack.... But point is, the video doesn't lie. I can show that clip to anyone and they would be like, dude, that was a di** move, but it wasn't. I knew the guy and it was the right thing to do, cause we literally talked about it as we paddled in. But it looks really bad. Maybe something like that happened to Kelly, but the final paddle in after the wave is SUSPECT
lol that was the most gangsterest shyt I have ever seen lol.have to try that next time I go to Belmar.slater is the chuck Norris of surfing
