it's interesting that people have to undergo some stupid task in order to get people to donate money to those in need. You see it all the time. Cycling across the country, running a marathon, surfing every day in a state that gets waves maybe once a week.

"would you like to support the homeless?"
    "no"
"what if I surf every day for a year?"
    "Sure"

    I have no explanation

Yes, good idea. We can stand at every intersection in town with a cardboard sign that reads "Homeless: need waves. God bless".

Damn, why didn't I think of this? Perfect excuse to give the wife when she nags me about going surfing too much. "Sorry honey, but I've got to for the homeless. I'm one of the few hopes they have left."

    for real?

Ok so what if I move my bum a$$ down to central florida? and surf every day. and am also a totally homeless POS? can't I just surf everyday to get someone to donate to the organization to support the homeless (myself). ONE surfer should be enough to support ONE homeless person? I think this is reasonable. that, or the entire philosophy of this forum is totally FU(KED.

All the bums in florida are pu$$ies anyways... there's no winter!

why do they need support anyways? there's pineapple and coconut trees everywhere! not to mention all the wild hog that runs around FL.

    pppppfffffffftttttttttt

Our winter may be short and weak compared to the Northern states, but our Summer is more brutal than you can imagine. Sit out in the 98 degree sun with 100% humidity day in day out, see how that feels. HAHA Even if you find some shade it's still 100% humidity and still over 90 degrees all day ERRR Day!

True... But 90 degrees is uncomfortable, 5 degrees hurts.

There's a reason Key West has more homeless than anywhere. They just go south until they get to the end.

I always wondered why our northern homeless never bothered just walking south...I mean they've got time on their hands. Maybe not all the way to FLA, but sh!t man I don't know how they do it when we get real cold snaps.

"90 degrees is uncomfortable, 5 degrees hurts"...I like that, and very true. I suffer in the heat personally but one can find ways to stay cool, and at least there would be critters to eat...when it gets frozen over up here I just don't get how the homeless survive. OP I don't get how surfing will help these guys either, but whenever one is doing something to raise awareness or help something other than themselves I'm all for it, so Godspeed.

Valid points, but dudes / dudettes die of heat stroke sometimes, it's probably not so bad in the keys or anywhere coastal because you always got the ocean to jump in and the sea breeze, but inland can be brutal. I've seen them passed out face down on the concrete cooking away like bacon before.

Shoot, I've almost blacked out from the heat and I HAVE a home! If you aint hydrated, you're going to pass out, and it don't take long. If you don't have money, good chance you are going to have a hard time staying hydrated.

I wonder how many of the FL homeless became that way by deciding to surf <or insert any other hobby/addiction instead> all day every day instead of living their lives with some sense of responsibility and self control. I know I would sure as hell be homeless within 6 months I tried to surf all day every day,,, but alas... I have this thing called a job...

one of their 'indirect choices' was being creamed by other people.
jerry sandusky is in jail but his victims are maimed and out in public.
FLY A BANNER FOR CHURCHES THAT DON'T LIE AND HURT PEOPLE.

i love the heat, i play basketball in the afternoon and run up and down the court, while the old people sit in the pool and at home in the a/c. I sweat out like 4 pounds of water in 2 hours..........

somebody should do a "homeless raid" like the "lowers raid" at Belmar, deal, and Manasquan.a thousand smelly bums charging the overcrowded waters and running over everybody and stealing their change on the beach.it would be biblical
