I got it for 3.18 but it's in the really bad part of a really bad city. I get my helper to get out and pump while I lock the doors.

Merritt Parkway CT-15 has to be the most expensive gas nationwide other than California.

I can't believe that Americans are starting to believe that $3.00 gas is "cheap". Big Oil has been slowly increasing the price over the last several years, and know that once they hit the $4.00 mark, we stop driving. But it probably won't be much longer before 4 bucks is the new benchmark.

I would expect gas to go up another .50 cents in the next few weeks, just in time for the Labor Day holiday. Look for it to stay there for a couple of months, then start magically going down again about a month before Christmas. You could set your watch to this garbage.

The biggest "like clockwork" that I see, every 4 years is the good old presidential election. As the last Hoorah for the current party in office, they drop gas prices substantially for about 2 months. That slap in the face reminder to us all of what a "great job" the current party did.

Gas was at it's lowest in September and October in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012. Funny how that works.

Not to get all spiritual and political up in here, but since we are on the subject, here is my opinion on why the ISIS, Hamas and Boka Haram ain't going anywhere. I am not taking shots at anyone's beliefs, but here is the very scary truth about radical islam and the muslim world in general.

Here are 2, out of 109 direct quotes from the Quran that directly order violence:

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing...
but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun

Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Scary, Scary stuff. We can drop 500 LB laser bombs on then every day for the next 5 years. They will never stop this fight. Never.

Yeah, that's a good point. I don't want to get too political up in here. You know what they say about politics and religion? But it doesn't really seem to matter who is running the country when prices go up and down, which leads me to question how much of a grip the White House really has on Big Oil. I'm guessing that it's the other way around, and Big Oil is tightly gripping the small balls of the Presidency.

I once worked in the office of the Secretary of Homeland Security. No politician should ever be trusted, Republican or Democrat.

Yeah man, true that. I am not trying to get into religion, but I felt kind of obligated recently to at least try and do a little research as to exactly why the Islamist extremists want to kill everyone else in the world, and we are all at the top of the list. So, I poked around at the written word that they follow, and man, anyone who thinks the Bible is scary, go read a few excerpts from the Quran. It is crap your pants frightening in many, many ways. And if these people follow it's context literally, they will never stop killing. It's just crazy. I wish I could find some other justification or way that people could follow that book peacefully, but it makes itself clear over 100 times that if you believe in any other god, you must die or convert. Period.

So, I think what is best for our nation, is regardless of our beliefs, lose all the ties that we have to any religion. Our nation is still looked upon as a "Christian" society, regardless of how un-true that is this day in age.

Because from my interpretation, if we simply believe in nothing, then in those writings, we should go untouched. It never says that you "have to believe" in anything. It just states that if you do believe in anything else, you must die.

Talk about bat sh** crazy. Reading some of that stuff will give you the chills.

lol funny how everyone keeps talking about isis.I think they are doing a fine job at whatever they are doing.first off its nothing new.its a holy war,not terrorism, very very big difference.so America intervening is like football the giants are playing the cowboys and the eagles win.thats how much sense it makes.they are not killing random people, they are killing all the Shiites, which is what the new Iraq is.iraq has been predominatly sunni, that's what saddam was.all they are doing is trying to restore power to the sunnis.I look at isis like how I look at the Israel and gaza conflict.isis is doing what Israel is doing, which I do consider terrorism.i watched all the isis vids and its them targeting and killing the Shiite gov officials and army people.isis is an army not a terror group, yea I wont argue that what they are doing is terrorism.anytime anyone kills anyone in the name of religion is terror, and that goes for Israel bombing gaza,America bombing Iraq, yemen,Afghanistan, somolia,Jordan, and whatever other muslim countries there are.frankly I really don't give a shyt and I say let them kill each other.its stupid for us to get involved.

They are killing kids though. No matter what religion you are you shouldn't have to worry about your kids being killed.

Yeah, they are be heading children. And regardless of our opinions on the "War in Iraq", it's a tad bit late for us to turn a blind eye for that. Iraq became our responsibility when we took it over. For all intents and purposes, Iraq is an American province in the middle east. That was the original intention. Yes, we pulled a few troops out. But we made Iraq our problem and it will be that way for a while now.

And I think it's safe to say, if those guys could, they would kill every last one of us, regardless of our beliefs.

    We are "The West"
