i've had a couple night sessions at home when the ceiling is low. we used to have a killer sandbar a couple blocks down from 'the spot' that literally no one knew about but the dozen or so of us who saw it working one winter after the most recent dredge. this thing was pretty perfect when it was on... long left from pier to groin. anyway there was a wedding going on out on the pier- it was november or decemberish so we were in full suits gloves etc. the wedding party noticed us and starting cheering and yelling. we were drunk and having fun, they were drunk and having fun. it was pretty memorable. walking through the hood at 2am in a full suit in off season is a pretty funny sight i would imagine. the locals make it even funnier. "hey sufa man duz dat rubbah suit keep you warms?!?!" "you white boyz KRAZY!"

I've done it on the standup and with my longboard over the years. Must say I feel like a lure anytime I'm not on the stand up. But when it's glassy with a full moon it's definitely fun for about 40 minutes till your mind starts to play tricks on you. I don't do it solo these days either.

Lit up like that, that board looks like a giant fishing lure.

In loch arbor people used to gather during the full moons in the summer to night surf. Before sandy there was a bright enough spot light on the beach to help visibility a little bit. That light did draw the bait into the lineup but there were always about 5-10 people in the water so there was better odds. Always had fun in a group, never night surfed solo except staying in the water for a few min after dark at the end of a sesh.

Gracias, amigo. Will give it a go. Was trying yoga, but not often enough.
A better, firmer mattress might help too.

Denada, Yeah I'm sure a better bed will help. My memory foam feels great on my back. As far as stretching goes, I do it when I'm watching TV a lot, I always feel better when I'm consistent with it

Surfed in bioluminescence in Jersey about 7 years ago in October. When I first rolled up to the break my buddy was already surfing and the water was red. I went into as well and as it got dark I hear him yelling. He thought something was following his board. He left a bright blue trail behind him.Every motion you made in the water left a fluorescent blue trail.Even as the waves broke it would light it up.

That's cool to see huh!? It happened in the Gulf for me. I also did the bio tour in PR which is pretty sweet, but no waves in the phosphorescent bay unfortunately. All this talk makes me want to plan another moon lit surf session.

one of surfings' less known rules is that once you're over fifty you don't have to worry about sharks anymore.
if they haven't got you by now....

Two things I need to see before I die(preferably on a moderate dose of psilocybin): some bioluminescence in the water, and the Northern Lights.

Yep, I think it's more probable with a full moon, it does happen a bit more often down here I think, the water is super salty

so it was a bust last night, moon decided it didn't want to make an appearance until around 11ish and by that point was already on my way home. Surfed until like 9 and got some really decent ones, was worth the drive for an hour surf session with little light. my buddy surfed all day from 11am until dark, by the time i made it down he was so wiped out but still charging. Def had me jealous, seems like yesterday was the day to be had versus bertha last week. It was cool hanging out afterwards though, the sky was still super clear and could see a lot of the perseid meteor shower. He's probably out in the water right now too getting some leftovers. Man, I need to find a night time job haha
