I think it is time for a custom ride as I finally am figuring out something about my style, ability, location, etc. I know that Brian Wynn is in the area with a good rep. I will be looking for a big guy short board, thinking quad or 4 + 1 so that I can play around with settings as conditions allow. I value ease of wave catching, speed to make sections, carving turns and tube time over radical maneuvers that I am unlikely to master. The concepts in the Lost Domesticated series seem to be on the right track for me but rather support a local. Any recommendations on shaper and possible concepts?
Dan Callaghan - DCal Shapes. Hes out of Ocean City right now. ordered a custom pinecone last summer - 5 fin. Great all around east coast board. anything from like waist high to overhead ive ridden it. i barely ride any other board anymore (with the exception of a minisimmons when its below waist). love it as a quad. lead time might be a little while depending on how busy he is. i think i got mine in 2 months.

I just had a friend of mine shape me a "big guy" shortboard with a 5 fin setup. He's local in SJ and has made 3 boards for me. PM me if you want his info.
