I hold two World Records with Guiness - Most consecutive bottles of wine opened at the same time & longest chain of human "High-5's" (did an event for one of my casino clients in CA)

Pretty sure you have to pay for a Guiness rep to be there throughout the whole thing...Good Luck!

I think your vibe n a few good buds can get ya through it. Hydrate as much as possible. 1/2 n 1/2. 1/2 power drink mixed with h20. Yet not every resting time. U have trained enough so far but protein and electrolyte intake is going to be your issue. After body is drained of everything cramping is going to be a huge issue. Have a bud bring ya a greasy burger out or a few snickers. Cheaper than power bars at 1/2 cost and more calories. Get cytomax mix for power drink. Road bikers swear by it. been around for a long while. Ya got to prepare for that long session a few days before. Talk to someone who does triathlons or marathons for advice. U got it bro! Remember sugars go, fats go then muscles when doing this type of stuff. Be safe n good luck.
Ps. Have ya looked into the guy who has surfed the most consecutive days in a row?

Isn't not being able to surf for several hours kind of a fundamental question? I woudl think question #1 to Guiness is: "what exactly do i have to be doing for the next 30 hours to break the record?"

I mean if you've got to go 30 hours then you will have to sustain three high tide cycles. If surfing becomes impossible for some length of time around each high tide, that might be a factor.

dudeclimbing is right on about the equal parts Gatorade and water. The drink alone has too many mg/ml of glucose per water volume to be quickly and properly absorbed. 50% dilution is key to overcoming this.

Just go to a break that cranks on all tides and make sure it's a swell that will sustain for two days straight. The one we had this weekend in New England would've been ideal for you since it was constant offshores or glass and the conditions were so manageable and kind yet consistent over hours.

The best way to capture uninterrupted footage (especially at night) is with a CCTV type set-up with a digital continuous DVR. It provides a linear timestamp to deter editing. Most can hold up to a weeks worth of HQ video. The key is to use IR Illuminators at nigh which don't actually shine a visible light but makes the image clear as day in B/W. They can be costly though, so I thought about maybe you could get a local CCTV install company to "sponsor" you and use their logo and stuff as part of the "Guinness" attempt hype in exchange for setting up the gear and capturing footage for you...??? Just a thought, but I could see that being a juicy pitch to a local company trying to get their name out there any way they can.

Either way, hope everything aligns and you get it done. Pullin' for ya!

Correct. I have worked with a couple systems like that. They would run constant for up to 5 day loops before any quality is lost. Transition from day light to IR and stuff was seamless too. It is creepy to watch the night time footage because you look like a ghost, but hey. And the time stamping is great, just make sure the setting are correct. Most are completely wrong when you fire them up. Make the adjustments.

Ok everyone... I'm attempting this on Saturday.. Ive got cameras lined up, lighting for the night, volunteers, sponsors, etc.. Im starting at 630 am south of the KB pier and hopefully going till 1:30 pm on Sunday. Raising $ for Ocean Cure along the way. Ive got a bucket hat that FCS gave me, plenty of sunscreen, water, and food but the sun still stands as my biggest challenge. Come out and surf with me if you are local to the area..

Thanks man. It was quite a challenge. I've got the worst chaffing right now. Surfing under the lights was completely surreal. For the first 90 minutes it was waist to chest and glass and we were lit up by the lights. The craziest part was the amount of sharks I saw. If say between. 20-30. I guess the lights attracted them. Got spooked a couple of times. I didn't hit the wall until around 1030 pm. The first 15 hours I felt great and then the bottom fell out. But I Raised some money for ocean cure and surfed 29 hours with my 30 or so of my best friends. How bad could it really get?

So you quit? Was it because you were spooked about the sharks late night? Or cause you were exhausted? Just curious. Good effort though. Was everybody pushing you to stay out and finish?
