Hey everyone im a part time shaper in Newport, RI, I do custom boards and mostly stick to shortboards and fish shapes. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone who provides professional board glassing services in the area... it would be more efficent in my small area if i could send them out.... if anyone could help me that would be great or if anyone has any questions about shaping, good shapes or whats working for them, custom boards ect. feel free to get this thread going
im looking good short board (pintail) 6'0''-6'4'', something that can handle medium waves like ruggles and maybe tucky's. i normally ride single fins, fishes and lbs. but im looking to get more into shortboarding this year
Check out Dave Levy in Gansett. He operates LSD surfboards over there and is a respected shaper in RI. I contacted him once about helping me glass a board and he was happy to oblige, however i'm not sure what his answer would be to glassing boards on a permanent basis for someone else. http://www.levysurfdesigns.com/ How much would you charge for a board?
single fin i could deff build you one of those pin tails are my favorite tails to ride i currently ride a 6' 2" 18 1/2 2 1/4 and it works great at ruggles and tuckies, i would never ride anything else. you guys can contacts me directly at patslax13@aol.com for questions or my number. my boards usualy range from around 300- 450 depending on fins, glassing airbrush ect. but most are right about 300-350
