I saw an interview on the news the said they had a go pro on them recording when the shark attacked. Hopefully it washes up on the beach that would be some crazy footage.
http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/great-white-shark-attacks-two/33457386 the 911 audio is awesome
experienced kayakers + getting up close to seal group = one of these things in not like the other......
Goodness. I don't envy their situation and realize it was very traumatic, but, talk about being paralyzed by panic. "What if the shark comes back?" My Question: "Why are not both of you back in your kayaks and paddling like gangbusters to shore?" If that shark, based on its superior capabilities, wanted to eat them, it would have been over before they could dial 911. I don't think I'd be waiting for harbormaster or whitey's return. My adrenaline would have been at full tilt.
"Help me, help you." She did not subscribe to that. God bless EMS dispatchers. I have so many questions. How did they know where she was, did I miss her giving location? Was her iPhone6 life proof? What iOS software did it have on it? Was she treading water and keeping the phone dry at the same time? Like cccdog said, why didn't she get back in the kayak and paddle? If her friend was "upside down" during the call, was her head below water?
We'll, if they were expert kayakers, they should have been able to re enter there kayaks as others have said. It's something every experienced kayaker should know. Anyone have any pics of the kayaks?
you're in the ocean...of course there's going to be sharks. That's like making a statement of walking through the forest and not getting attacked by a bear. Who gives a ****?!
Kayak goes in the water, blonds go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our shark. Farewell and adieu to you, fair Waspish ladies. Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Blond. For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston. And so nevermore shall we see you again.
NOW THAT'S LOGIC! (as long as we can all agree you're referring to the one on the left from the camera's perspective)
bears in the forest? i think you meant to say beers....in which case they occur both in the forest and in the ocean
Don't think it's been posted yet, but apparently the kayakers were looking for a shark. We'll, I guess they found one.
Just saw a report saying there was a shark eating a seal so they paddled out to try and take pictures of it. Prime candidates for the Darwin Award. In other news a shark took out a seal at peggoty beach last night.
This video was on CNN this morning. Sensationalism at it's finest. The title is "Watch Hammerhead Chase Swimmer".... What it should be titled: Watch hammerhead chase and eat fish, scaring people standing in the water 100 feet away. http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/v...ead-shark-close-call-wwl.get-out-da-wata.html
