I recently picked up the surfboard in the Midwest, it doesn't have any markings of a shaper or dimensions but I do know it is a 6'2. Single fin. So check the pics and let me know there is no place for a leash to go!
I have checked the pictures and used my expert knowledge to confirm that there is in fact no place for the leash to go...
Looks like an old piece of equipment. I'm no expert, but possibly late-late 60s to mid 70s. To me, it looks like more of a mid to late 70s shape. Oceanside had a few shapers, if it is the Oceanside from FL - Doug Haut, Johnny Rice, Mike Winterburn, or Bobby Tomb. I would recommend not putting a leash plug in it. If you want a leash, please try the following product. It will save the board from being ruined by a leash plug. http://www.surfcohawaii.com/EZ-Plug-Kit-Rigid-p/a-ezplugrigid.htm Odds are, the screw holding the fin in place has an eyelet for a leash string to attach to. I can't see the photograph easily.
It's worth whatever glorious waves you manage to surf with it. WTF, is this Antiques Roadshow?? If you're so hot to sell it, sell it. Otherwise, surf it. Either way, you're not exactly in this for historical info for your budding surf library.
Looks like a shape from Belmar- shaped by 'the shred' You have to drill a hole in the fin base to add a leash on those old single fins...
There's a dude named metard on this Forum. If he posts info on what to do with that board, listen to him.
Code: Cool I will look into that!!!! To whoever said I was eager to sell I never mentioned selling, people started offering! I spoke with Lester Friday (step into liquid) and he lemme know how to do leash loop on it as it's polyester resin and foam not epoxy so needs different treatment. I will also follow up on the shred lead,
