    Pfft.

Since when did boogers and standups give a good gawddam about Johnny Law? I've been dodging police, lifeguards, private security, angry homeowners, snapping canines, and even the eff'n coast guard to get it good, since I could pedal a bicycle. This is nothing new.

Sometimes you've got to hop a gate, paddle a channel, dodge a guard, hike a goat trail, BS a cop or whatever to get good surf. If all you're willing to do is paddle out 10 feet from the Far Rockaway station next to a bunch of lifeguard towers in midsummer, then you're gonna have to deal with blackballs and bans so that little Retard Ralphie from Omaha doesn't drown himself 30 feet out from the sand.

Quitcher whining and man up. Just flip that lifeguard kid the bird and paddle out. If you manage to get yourself some jail time and/or a summons for bodyboarding, that's a badge of honor, son.

PFFT! Big talk man but I don't buy it for a second. No way you would risk a fine and jail time daily to go surf. Sure we hop gates and such for epic swells that occur once a year or two. Taking a risk for that is fine but having to take one everytime you want to go out on your board is just BS.

My prediction, if this isnt rescinded soon, mass body boarding events will take place as civil disobedience. you heard it hear first folks. or maybe not, lots of other message boards are talking about this bureaucratic overreach. and by bureaucratic overreach I mean aggressive asinine autocratic act.

    LET FREEDUMB RING!!!!!!

I said it elsewhere and I'll say it here...I would happily join a mass paddle out in protest. I reckon going to New York makes me nervous, but I can't remember a time when I wasn't nervous:cool:

I don't think it's over either. They rescinded temporarily, but this will come back.

Thought I saw something about a mass paddle out on Saturday on that bodyboarding forum you found. I think it was the first post on NYC bodyboard ban thread.

Slow down Jill, you move too fast
You got to make the freedom last
Just kicking down the sponger dudes
    Cooking up rules, ignorin' duty
Ba da da da da da da, actin’ loony

    Hello, sponger, why ya cryin'?
I’ve come to keep your stoke from dyin'
We got'cha Rock waves back, ya see?
    Foot in doo-doo, Parks Department
Ba da da da da da da, what a doozy

I got no love for Jill
    No promises to keep
I’m proudly and loudly creating a heap
Let the spongers drop all of their flippers on you
    D*ck, I'll drag you
    It's my duty

    ...
suppose we should say thanks to Rockaways Administrator Jill Weber for coming to her senses.
